Union Railway accepts bids

Abu Dhabi’s Union Railway Co is seeking bids for diesel locomotives and freight wagons to service the project that will link the UAE for the first time via a cargo and passenger train.

The company is accepting bids for the cars and engines until 3rd October, according to a tender announcement released to the press this week.

The company will provide pre-qualification documents for collection by potential bidders by 19th September.

The initial segment is intended to link the Shah natural gas field in the desert to the southwest of Abu Dhabi city to oil and gas treatment facilities at Habshan and to the port at Ruwais for shipments abroad.
