Abu Dhabi city was planned in the 1970s for an estimated maximum population of 600,000. According to Plan Abu Dhabi 2030: Urban Structure Framework Plan, there were 930,000 people here in 2007 – and the population of Abu Dhabi is expected to increase to 1.3 million in 2013, 2 million in 2020 and 3.1 million in 2030
