Just Voices, Abu Dhabi’s a cappella music festival, returns on 11th June. ‘A cappella’ means singing without instrumental accompaniment and has a long tradition reaching back through the ages. These days, a cappella includes a wide variety of singing styles and genres, and you can get a hear it for yourself! Four vocal groups will be performing at this year’s Just Voices; Voices of Harmony are a female Barbershop and Rock ‘n’ Roll group, Blue Fever (pictured) sing a cappella Jazz, new to the scene are Cantus Abu Dhabi who mainly sing madrigals (16th Century vocal compositions) and also The Harmaniacs who are a male Barbershop quartet. The concert is supported by ADACH and will begin at 6pm at the Abu Dhabi Theatre, on the Breakwater next to Marina Mall. Tickets are AED 30 on the door or can be bought in advance from Spinneys Khalidiya video desk, with proceeds going to support the Special Care Centre.
