Thumbay Healthcare has announced the launch of Marhaba Surgeons, a national campaign set to become the country’s largest network of surgical professionals. The initiative was unveiled during the group’s high-profile surgical conference in Ajman, where 41 doctors were also honoured for their exceptional service and impact on patient care.
The conference, titled Excellence in Surgery: Advancing Surgical Innovation & Patient Outcomes, offered eight Continuing Medical Education (CME) hours and brought together leading surgeons, educators, and healthcare specialists. Attendees participated in practical sessions and case-based discussions, sharing best practices aimed at improving surgical outcomes across multiple specialties.
Honouring excellence in surgery
During the ceremony, physicians were recognised for their contributions to patient care, surgical excellence, and community service. The awards underscored the everyday impact of healthcare professionals whose work often goes unrecognised, while also signalling Thumbay Healthcare’s commitment to fostering higher standards of practice.
Dr. Thumbay Moideen, Founder President of Thumbay Group, and Mr. Akbar Moideen Thumbay, Vice President of Thumbay Healthcare, expressed gratitude to H. H. Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman and Chairman of the Ajman Executive Council, for his continued support.
“Honouring 41 doctors is more than a ceremony—it’s a statement about the standards we expect and the outcomes our communities deserve,” said Dr. Moideen. “Marhaba Surgeons turns that standard into a living network that helps surgeons teach, treat, and transform at scale.”
A new platform for collaboration
Marhaba Surgeons has been launched under the slogan “Where Expertise Meets Opportunity.” The platform is designed to strengthen peer-to-peer collaboration, promote research, and support second opinions, while also enabling more referrals across a continuum of care.
The initiative will operate as both a professional community and an operational backbone, offering access to advanced facilities and infrastructure. These include:
- Ten state-of-the-art operating theatres
- 24/7 emergency support and rapid diagnostics
- Rehabilitation services and academic pathways
- More than 12 surgical specialties across Thumbay’s healthcare network
With a target of enrolling 500 surgeons, the campaign is positioned as the country’s largest hub for surgical practice and collaboration.
Mr. Akbar Moideen Thumbay emphasised the operational strength behind the initiative. “This campaign connects surgical talent with real-world capability—emergency readiness, rapid diagnostics, rehabilitation, and multi-specialty support—so every patient journey is stronger, faster, and safer,” he said.
National footprint and academic mission
Marhaba Surgeons will be anchored across Thumbay’s hospitals and facilities, including Thumbay University Hospital Ajman, Thumbay Hospital Ajman, Thumbay Hospital Fujairah, and Thumbay Day Care Hospital Sharjah. Surgeons and healthcare leaders interested in joining the programme are invited to register via the official portal.
Thumbay Healthcare, part of the wider Thumbay Group, describes itself as the region’s largest private academic health network. The group operates hospitals, clinics, laboratories, pharmacies, and allied services, and is recognised as the first private academic health system in the region.
By combining recognition, collaboration, and innovation, the launch of Marhaba Surgeons marks a new chapter in the development of surgical care in the UAE—one that aims to make surgery more connected, more advanced, and more accessible to patients nationwide.
