Men In Black III

Look who’s back

MeninBlack3

It’s Taken almost a decade to get this threequel to the big screen, but following the success of the first two installments, we guess it was almost inevitable that Men In Black III made an appearance sooner or later – and of course it’s all been filmed in eye-popping 3D too.

This time around, Will Smith’s Agent J must travel back in time to 1969 to prevent the assassination of Tommy Lee Jones’ Agent K at the hands of Boris the Animal (Clement).

Working together with the young Agent K – played by Josh Brolin doing his best Jones impersonation – the Men In Black find themselves in a frantic race against time to save themselves, the Agency, the Earth and humanity itself.

There’s nothing particularly original here and Will Smith’s comedy shtick is growing a little old but somehow it still seems to work – thanks mainly to some inspired special effects and monster design.

It might not be able to compete with some Summer spectaculars like The Avengers or the upcoming Batman, but MIB 3 is enjoyable enough that we wish the series hadn’t been MIA for quite so long.
