notalotofpeopleSheikh Zayed Bridge, described as the “world’s most difficult bridge” and designed by the iconic Iraqi-British architect Zaha Hadid, is an essential element in the traffic masterplan for the Eastern side of Abu Dhabi island (it will be the third and main bridge for vehicles getting on and off the island). Its central pier alone contains enough concrete to cover a football pitch to a height of five metres. The bridge is about 68 metres in width and 842 metres in length, with a central steel arch span of 234 metres. It was due for completion in 2006, but it’s running a bit late ...
