high-rise buildings

notalotofpeopleUnlike neighbouring Dubai, Abu Dhabi currently has a relatively small number of high-rise buildings – but there are still a few tall ones dotted along the skyline. Currently the capital’s highest building is the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority Tower, one of our favourites (it’s the curled-ribbon building on the Corniche), that stands 185m high (607ft). The second tallest is the National Bank of Abu Dhabi HQ – 173m high (568ft), although many people disregard the spire on top of it. For the immediate future there are some real biggies under construction; The Landmark is set to be the highest of the lot, currently being built on the Corniche and due to stand 324m (1,063ft) tall with 72 floors above ground and five basement levels.
