Whether it’s pizza and pasta from Italy, souffle and snails from France or sauerkraut and sausage from Germany, Abu Dhabi’s European dining options are plentiful. Abu Dhabi Week rounds up our top five authentic European eateries ...

Bord Eau
If you want top-end French cuisine, then you can’t get much better than Bord Eau in the Shangri-La. Possibly the best fine-dining option in Abu Dhabi – although certainly not the cheapest – this restaurant serves classic old-school French dishes with a contemporary twist.
Cost: AED 300-400 per person

Brauhaus
As the only authentic German eatery in Abu Dhabi, this Teutonic tavern has a lot of representing to do – and it doesn’t disappoint. The interior is classic Bavarian with brass horns and wall-to-wall wood and the menu is peppered with traditional German fare.
Cost: AED 150-250 per person

Belgian Cafe
Offering a little piece of old Brussels right in the heart of Abu Dhabi, the Belgian Cafe in the InterContinental serves classic Belgian food, which basically means steaming pots of mussels, chunky fries and creamy mayonnaise, all washed down with a huge variety of traditional beverages.
Cost: AED 250-300 per person

Prego’s
Prego’s at the Beach Rotana serves up consistently well-executed Italian fare, including delicious handmade pastas (you can see them being made) and wonderful wood-fire oven baked pizzas.
Cost: AED 150-250 per person

Bravo
There is such a dearth of Spanish restaurants in the capital that if you want some Tapas then your only real option is Bravo at the Sheraton Abu Dhabi – it’s a good job then that this place does it so well. Choose from a wide variety of Spanish cheeses, cold cuts and paellas – it’s all so tasty, it just seems a shame to share.
Cost: AED 150-250 per person

Probably the best actual European food in Abu Dhabi is at a place next to my work called Mirabel in the Marks & Spencer complex.

Food is excellent, service very good, ambiance is good, price is excellent.

Food-wise, it's better than anything on your list. All-round, it's on the same level as Bord Eau and possibly Prego's
