Your Abu Dhabi - Rana Al Saadi

Rana Al Saadi is 16 years old, she has lived in Abu Dhabi for about seven years and moved here from California in the USA. She is a grade 12 student and wants to study Journalism after she finishes school. Abu Dhabi Week asked Rana what are the five things she likes most about living in Abu Dhabi.

Kayaking in the mangroves
The mangroves are a beautiful part of the city that not a lot of people know about. Paddling along I get such a strong sense of adventure and excitement and it really builds up my energy and stamina. I love that when I am tired of seeing buildings I can escape to the mangroves and breathe fresh air and hear birds chirping.

Ferrari World
Ferrari World is easily one of the best amusement parks I have ever been to. It is such an exciting place - it has the fastest roller coaster in the world! Riding it is an experience I will never forget. Every moment in the park is a thrill. It’s close to where I live so I can visit fairly often.

Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque
The Mosque is one of the most profound religious landmarks of the Emirates. I love visiting because it is such a special and beautiful place to pray. I feel proud that Abu Dhabi has built one of the greatest mosques in the world. I also love the fact that it provides people with an insight into Islam. In my eyes, it is one of the wonders of the world.

The Corniche
When people ask me what I love most about Abu Dhabi, I quickly answer “the Corniche”. As simple as the answer may seem, it is in fact one of the things that I most cherish and enjoy. The view from the Corniche is extraordinarily beautiful. I love watching the sunset and walking at night.

Multicultural
Abu Dhabi is a city full of people from all around the world. I love meeting new people of all ages and nationalities and I enjoy learning about different cultures, traditions and languages. The experience definitely expands my knowledge and encourages me to become more open-minded.
