1GLOBAL, the international mobile communications provider, has officially established its global headquarters in Amsterdam and expanded its board of directors as part of a broader strategy to accelerate growth in the mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) and enabler (MVNE) space.

The creation of 1GLOBAL Holdings B.V. on 27 June 2025 marks a significant shift in the company’s structure, positioning it at the regulatory heart of the European Union while benefiting from the Netherlands’ favourable business environment and rich technology talent pool.

The restructuring coincides with a strengthened governance framework. Dr. Hannes Ametsreiter, formerly CEO of Vodafone Germany and Group CEO of Telekom Austria, has been appointed Chairman of the Board. Dr. Ametsreiter has served as a non-executive director at 1GLOBAL since August 2023.

Joining him are three new non-executive directors: Marc van Campen, Andrin Bachmann, and Roy van Leeuwen. Together with the founders—Hakan Koç and Pyrros Koussios—the expanded board brings a wealth of expertise in law, telecommunications, venture capital, and technology.

“The expansion of our board and the establishment of our legal base in Amsterdam is a pivotal moment,” said Hakan Koç, Co-Founder and Board Member of 1GLOBAL. “Our new directors bring industry-leading insights that will help us continue scaling globally. Amsterdam isn’t just our new home—it’s a gateway to further innovation and investment across Europe and beyond.”

Marc van Campen, a seasoned Dutch tax advisor and lawyer, is a partner at Van Campen Liem. Andrin Bachmann is a veteran technology investor and founding partner at Piton Capital. Roy van Leeuwen brings e-commerce and tech leadership experience, having served in executive roles at AUTO1 Group.

Bachmann will also chair the company’s newly formed Audit Committee, with Ametsreiter and Koussios as supporting members. This development reflects 1GLOBAL’s evolution from a fast-growing startup into a mature, global tech firm driven by proprietary telecom technologies such as eSIM.

Ametsreiter said: “As Chairman, I’m excited to guide 1GLOBAL through its next chapter. The company is uniquely positioned to redefine how mobile connectivity is delivered globally. With its technology-first approach and world-class team, it is a powerful growth enabler for both telecom incumbents and digital disruptors.”

1GLOBAL’s move comes amid growing demand for seamless, borderless mobile connectivity. By aligning operations more closely with EU regulations and deepening its leadership structure, the company signals a new phase of ambition and scalability in the global telecom landscape.

With its legal and strategic foundation in Amsterdam, 1GLOBAL is set to expand its reach, support international clients more effectively, and cement its place as a transformative force in global mobile communications.
