Chinese tech giant HONOR has officially entered the Bahraini smartphone market with the launch of its latest HONOR 400 Series, a move that marks a significant step in the company’s regional expansion across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).

The launch event, held in partnership with Future Communications Company S.P.C. (FCC)—HONOR’s exclusive distributor in Bahrain—brought together more than 80 key industry figures, including representatives from leading retailers and telecommunications operators. The evening spotlighted HONOR’s focus on AI innovation, photography excellence, and next-generation user experiences.

During the event, Laurence Li, General Manager for HONOR GCC, highlighted the company’s global momentum and commitment to long-term investment in Bahrain. He noted that the brand’s mission is to deliver cutting-edge devices that blend intelligent design with high performance, tailored to the needs of modern users in the Middle East.

Sayed Ali Kamel, Senior Business Development Manager at FCC, praised the collaboration, expressing confidence in HONOR’s potential to make a strong impact in Bahrain. “We are fully committed to ensuring successful market penetration and fostering sustainable growth for the HONOR brand in the Kingdom,” he said.

Cutting-edge AI features

The highlight of the event was the unveiling of the HONOR 400 and HONOR 400 Pro smartphones, both of which feature the company’s flagship 200MP AI camera system. The series introduces a new AI Creative Editor, designed to revolutionise mobile photography and simplify content creation, positioning the devices as ideal tools for creative professionals and social media enthusiasts.

The smartphones are powered by MagicOS 9.0, HONOR’s customised user interface built on Android 15, and come equipped with 6000mAh batteries that support ultra-fast charging.

The HONOR 400 is available in two configurations:

  • 12GB RAM + 256GB storage at BHD 154.9
  • 12GB RAM + 512GB storage at BHD 174.9

The more advanced HONOR 400 Pro is available in a 12GB RAM + 512GB storage variant priced at BHD 279.9, and features IP68 and IP69 water and dust resistance, adding durability to its high-end design.

A regional growth strategy

The Bahrain launch is part of HONOR’s broader strategy to expand its footprint across the GCC, following successful rollouts in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait. The company is seeking to position itself as a leading innovator in AI-powered mobile technology, with a particular focus on camera performance, user experience, and design.

With growing interest in AI-driven smartphones and a youthful, tech-savvy population, Bahrain offers fertile ground for premium mobile brands. HONOR’s latest move reflects not only a bet on regional growth but also a push to challenge more established smartphone brands by offering competitive pricing without compromising on features.
