The State of Kuwait celebrated its National Day at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, with a powerful cultural showcase that blended heritage, innovation, and a vision for the future. The day-long festivities positioned the Kuwait Pavilion as a standout attraction at the global exposition, drawing dignitaries, international media, and thousands of Expo visitors.

The celebration opened with a traditional parade of over 100 participants dressed in Kuwaiti attire, moving rhythmically to traditional music across the Expo site. The procession’s vivid colours and cultural energy drew large crowds, offering a festive and authentic glimpse into Kuwait’s history and customs.

The official ceremony, held at the National Day Hall within the Expo grounds, featured the premiere of the Visionary Lighthouse Show. This special performance used choreography, music, and immersive visual storytelling to reflect Kuwait’s evolution — from its deep-rooted traditions to the forward-thinking goals of the New Kuwait 2035 Vision. The performance earned widespread praise for its emotional depth and artistic creativity.

Speaking at the event, His Excellency Mr Salem Al Watyan, Commissioner General of the State of Kuwait Pavilion, emphasised the broader significance of the celebration:

“Our National Day celebration reflects the spirit of Kuwait. It is a moment to honour our heritage and share our hopes for a future built on progress, partnership and innovation. Expo 2025 gives us a powerful opportunity to engage with the world, and we are proud to be part of this global platform.”

Following the formal programme, guests were welcomed to the Kuwait Pavilion, where the festivities continued with traditional folklore performances and an evening light show projected onto the pavilion’s unique façade. The digital display highlighted key symbols of Kuwaiti culture, captivating audiences with its stunning visuals and emotive storytelling.

Situated in the Empowering Lives district of Expo 2025 Osaka, the Kuwait Pavilion has rapidly gained attention for its striking architecture, interactive exhibits, and compelling narrative. Since opening, it has consistently attracted high footfall, with thousands of daily visitors engaging in its multi-sensory experience.

The pavilion takes visitors on a journey through Kuwait’s past, present, and future, combining advanced digital installations with cultural artefacts and immersive environments. Key themes include sustainability, technological innovation, and global cooperation, all aligned with Kuwait’s national development goals.

By celebrating its National Day on the world stage, Kuwait not only honoured its cultural legacy but also reinforced its place in the global community — one that is grounded in tradition and looking confidently toward the future.
