Namibia claimed the championship title at the inaugural Dubai Holding Community Management UAE Netball Cup 2025, following a thrilling 62–53 win over Singapore in a high-energy final at Al Nasr Sports Hall.

The week-long tournament, officially sanctioned by World Netball, marked a breakthrough moment for international netball in the Middle East. With six national teams ranked between 18th and 30th globally — Namibia (20), Singapore (19), Kenya (25), Ireland (18), UAE (23), and the United States (30) — the event showcased elite-level competition and growing global interest in women’s sport.

Tournament Highlights:

  • Final: Namibia 62 – 53 Singapore
  • 3rd Place: Kenya 46 – 37 Ireland
  • 5th Place: UAE 65 – 48 USA

The UAE Falcons delivered a memorable performance in front of an enthusiastic home crowd, finishing fifth after a convincing win over the USA. Blending seasoned players with emerging talent from national U17 and U21 programs, the Falcons demonstrated the depth and promise of netball in the Emirates — earning praise from spectators and officials alike.

A Milestone for Women’s Sport in the Region

Held in partnership with Falcon and Associates, Dubai Sports Council, and UAE Netball Federation, the tournament reflected Dubai’s rising stature as a hub for elite women’s sports and inclusive international events.

Commenting on the significance of the event, Susanne Skelding, Founder of Active Netball, said:

“This tournament has been a dream in the making. Hosting six international teams here in Dubai shows the strength of our ambition and the passion within our community. I’m so proud of the UAE Falcons and of everyone who helped make this event a success — it’s a huge step forward for the sport in the region.”

Award Ceremony and Support

The awards ceremony was graced by senior dignitaries including:

  • H.E. Saeed Harib, Secretary General, Dubai Sports Council
  • Abdelrahim Al Hashimi, Chairman, UAE Netball Federation
  • Francis Jiani, CEO, Dubai Holding Community Management
  • Nasser Aman Al Rahma, Assistant Secretary General, Dubai Sports Council

In addition to Title Sponsor Dubai Holding Community Management, the tournament was supported by The Entertainer, Cognita Schools, Rove Hotels, Dubai Duty Free, and Mediclinic Middle East, all of whom helped deliver a top-tier experience for players and fans alike.
