Trosmic Sports has announced plans for a $1bn indoor arena in the GCC that could reshape the region’s entertainment industry.
Trosmic Sports has unveiled conceptual plans for Flux Halo, a $1 billion indoor megastadium that aims to set a new benchmark for live entertainment and sporting experiences in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region.
The announcement, made on Tuesday, outlines a vision for a multi-purpose venue that will seat up to 20,000 spectators and host a wide variety of events, from football and basketball games to concerts, esports tournaments, and conventions.
While the precise location of the stadium is yet to be finalised, sites under consideration include Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Riyadh. The project is backed by $1bn in Japanese equity and is targeted for completion in mid-2030.
According to Trosmic, Flux Halo will be “one of the most technologically advanced, culturally symbolic, and environmentally sustainable indoor arenas ever built.”
Designed by Japanese architects Kotetsu Yamamoto and George Kunihiro, the stadium’s architecture draws inspiration from Athena’s crown and the Möbius strip, symbolising both protection and infinite motion. It will be encased in a 50,000-square-metre programmable LED exterior, capable of displaying real-time data, immersive visual effects, and branding campaigns.
Inside, the venue will feature a 200,000-square-metre column-free bowl topped by a 75,000-square-metre retractable tensile roof, allowing the stadium to host events year-round, regardless of climate.
Chief Creative Director Yamamoto described the concept as “not just a stadium, but a cultural sculpture—an icon for the next generation.”
Sustainability is central to the project. The design includes solar-powered LEDs, AI-powered climate control systems, and rainwater recycling infrastructure. Kunihiro noted the goal is to reach net-zero energy operations, a standard few global stadiums have yet achieved.
The venue will also feature a luxury suite offering, retail outlets, a hospitality zone, and a flexible arena floor that can adapt to a variety of events. An estimated 10 million annual visitors are expected, generating diversified revenue through ticketing, sponsorships, and licensing.
Trosmic’s Chairman Vaibhav Sharma called the project a “once-in-a-generation opportunity” that will boost regional pride and economic growth. “Flux Halo is about more than entertainment—it’s about creating a legacy and helping the region claim its place in the global cultural arena,” he said.
In the coming weeks, a Japanese delegation will visit potential sites in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Riyadh, with private briefings planned between June 29 and July 7. Investors from both regional and global markets are being invited to participate in the project.
If realised as planned, Flux Halo could become a central pillar in the GCC’s ongoing transformation into a global hub for sport, culture, and technology-driven entertainment.
