Dubai-based airline flydubai has announced the resumption of daily flights to Damascus, the capital of Syria, starting 26 June 2025. The flights will depart from Terminal 2 of Dubai International Airport (DXB), marking a significant step in the gradual reopening of regional airspace and the airline’s wider return to its full network schedule.

The decision follows the easing of airspace restrictions in the region and the completion of necessary operational assessments. The carrier plans to restore its entire route network by 01 July, with a focus on maintaining flexibility and safety in a still-developing operational landscape.

Ghaith Al Ghaith, CEO of flydubai, said the airline is well-positioned to adapt to changing circumstances:

“We continue to monitor the situation closely and adjust our flight schedule accordingly. Our agility and preparedness have enabled us to act quickly during challenging times, while adhering to the highest operational standards and always prioritising the safety of our crew and passengers.”

The move comes after several months of suspended operations to select destinations in the region due to evolving geopolitical conditions. With the gradual lifting of restrictions and airspace reopening, flydubai is now reintroducing services with a safety-first approach, operating only within approved international air corridors.

Passengers planning to travel are encouraged to check flight status regularly via the airline’s website and update contact details through the “Manage Booking” section on flydubai.com. Tickets can also be booked through the flydubai mobile app, UAE Contact Centre at (+971) 600 54 44 45, flydubai travel shops, or authorised travel partners.

The airline’s phased return to previously affected routes reflects broader momentum in the regional aviation sector as airlines across the Middle East resume suspended services. flydubai has emphasized its commitment to operational flexibility and passenger safety, ensuring it can quickly respond to changes and provide reliable connectivity.

With demand for travel gradually rebounding and confidence in the market returning, the resumption of daily flights to Damascus marks a key milestone in flydubai’s 2025 recovery strategy. Additional updates on resumed destinations are expected in the coming weeks as the situation evolves.
