His Excellency Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), welcomed a senior delegation from Dubai Municipality to Moro Hub, a key subsidiary of Digital DEWA, for a strategic meeting aimed at enhancing collaboration on digital transformation and smart city initiatives.
The delegation was led by HE Marwan Bin Ghalita, Director General of Dubai Municipality, and included senior officials from both entities. The visit highlighted the shared commitment to strengthening Dubai’s status as a smart, secure, and sustainable global city.
Key attendees included Eng. Marwan Bin Haidar, Vice Chairman – Digital & Group CEO of Digital DEWA; Eng. Waleed Bin Salman, Vice Chairman – Energy; Abdul Nasser Abbas, Board Member of Digital DEWA; and Mohammed Bin Sulaiman, CEO of Moro Hub.
HE Saeed Al Tayer emphasized the alignment of both institutions with the long-term vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
“This visit reinforces the critical need for unified efforts among government entities to accelerate the deployment of smart, secure, and sustainable infrastructure,” said Al Tayer.
“At Digital DEWA, we are shaping the foundation of a resilient green economy by delivering world-class technologies that enhance operational agility and sustainability.”
The tour included a comprehensive presentation on Moro Hub’s digital services followed by a walkthrough of its state-of-the-art facilities, including the Network Operations Centre (NOC), Security Operations Centre (SOC), Smart Cities and IoT Command Centre, and the Green Data Centre—a core enabler of the UAE’s Net Zero by 2050 ambitions.
In a symbolic gesture reflecting the partnership’s environmental alignment, HE Al Tayer presented Moro Hub’s Green Certificate to HE Eng. Marwan Bin Ghalita. The certificate acknowledges Dubai Municipality’s environmental leadership, particularly its decision to host IT workloads at the Green Data Centre, thereby significantly reducing carbon emissions.
“As Dubai evolves into one of the smartest and most sustainable cities globally, collaboration with strategic partners like Moro Hub is crucial,” said Bin Ghalita.
“This visit provided valuable insights into how their digital solutions can complement our smart city goals, enhance public service delivery, and reinforce infrastructure resilience.”
Moro Hub continues to serve as a strategic digital partner to public and private sector organizations across a range of services, including Cloud & Hosting, IoT & Smart City Solutions, Cybersecurity, Managed Services, and Advanced Technology Platforms. Its operations are aligned with Dubai’s ambition to become a global digital capital and a model of sustainable urban development.
The visit reinforced the role of inter-governmental cooperation in advancing Dubai’s innovation agenda, enhancing citizen services, and building a future-ready digital infrastructure.
