The Esports World Cup Foundation (EWCF) has announced a new global partnership with tech giant Lenovo, naming its gaming division Lenovo Legion as the Official PC & Gaming Hardware Partner for the Esports World Cup 2025 (EWC).
Set to return to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from 7 July to 24 August 2025, the EWC is positioning itself as the premier global esports event, with 25 tournaments across 24 games, 2,000 elite players, and over $70 million in prize money — the largest pool in esports history.
Through this new collaboration, Lenovo Legion’s high-performance gaming PCs and laptops will become the backbone of the tournament, powering both the competition zones and training facilities. The hardware lineup includes Legion Tower 7i and Tower 5i desktops, Legion Pro 7i laptops, and a range of professional-grade peripherals.
“The Esports World Cup aims to redefine global esports, both in scale and the technology behind it,” said Mohammed Al Nimer, Chief Commercial Officer of EWCF. “Lenovo Legion understands the pressure athletes face on the world stage. Their machines are built to compete — and win.”
Lenovo’s flagship towers will be a mainstay throughout the event. The Legion Tower 7i, featuring NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 GPUs and advanced liquid cooling, is designed for top-tier esports performance. The Tower 5i, equipped with RTX 5070 Ti GPUs, balances thermal intelligence and responsiveness for sustained, high-level gameplay.
Meanwhile, fans and players alike will experience the Legion Pro 7i laptops, capable of delivering up to 250W total power and running on NVIDIA RTX 5090 Laptop GPUs, all displayed on 16” PureSight OLED screens—bringing desktop-level gaming on the move.
Lenovo will also deliver fully interactive festival zones, letting attendees try out Legion gear onsite. These zones aim to bridge the gap between spectators and professional players by offering hands-on access to the tech powering global champions.
“Lenovo Legion helps gamers reach their impossible,” said Volker Düring, VP of Lenovo’s PC Gaming Business. “The Esports World Cup is where the best of the best gather. It’s only fitting they compete using Legion.”
In addition to powering gameplay, Lenovo Legion branding will be featured across broadcasts, digital content, and live experiences throughout the event. Fans can expect exclusive behind-the-scenes content and player-focused storytelling across Legion’s digital channels, offering an inside look at the path to victory — and the hardware that enables it.
The EWC 2025 is expected to draw millions of fans, both online and onsite, with side events including live music, anime cafes, cosplay parades, retro arcades, and more, transforming Riyadh into a global hub of gaming culture for over six weeks.
With this partnership, Lenovo Legion strengthens its position at the forefront of competitive gaming while reinforcing the EWC’s mission to deliver a world-class esports festival powered by best-in-class technology.
