Maserati enjoyed a triumphant weekend at the iconic Spa-Francorchamps circuit, clinching a win in the Am Cup class and multiple podiums across categories in Round 3 of the 2025 GT2 European Series Powered by Pirelli.

In Race 1, the spotlight was firmly on Philippe Prette, who secured a commanding class victory from pole position in the Am Cup. Driving the number 1 Maserati GT2 for LP Racing, Prette built an early lead and expertly navigated the rain-slicked track to secure his fourth win of the season in class. His performance placed Maserati squarely in contention for overall honours.

Teammates Mauro Calamia and Roberto Pampanini of Dinamic Motorsport also delivered a stellar showing in Race 1, rising from the second row to finish second overall and second in the Pro-Am Cup. Despite a rival’s penalty nearly handing them a win, they finished just three seconds behind the leader.

Race 2, held the following day on Saturday 28 June, saw Calamia and Pampanini once again feature strongly. Starting from the second row, the duo quickly moved into second place and maintained their pace through the driver change. After the pit stop reshuffle, they crossed the line in third overall and third in class, marking back-to-back podiums at Spa.

However, fortune did not favour Prette in Race 2. Starting from the third row, he took an early lead in the Am Cup but suffered a right rear tyre issue, forcing an extended pit stop. He rejoined the race to finish fourth in class, but retained his lead in the overall Am Cup standings.

Maserati’s presence at Spa extended beyond the racetrack. The brand’s flagship MCXtrema served as the official Leading Car throughout the event, dressed in a commemorative livery celebrating the 20th anniversary of the MC12’s historic win at the 24 Hours of Spa in 2005.

The manufacturer also supplied the full fleet of official support vehicles, including Safety Cars and Medical Cars, under a partnership with SRO Motorsports Group, the organisers of the series.

Maria Conti, Head of Maserati Corse, reflected on the event:

“The weekend at the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa was simply extraordinary! The Maserati GT2s shone with victories and podium placings, while our MCXtrema led the pack in iconic style. These results confirm the excellence of our cars and our leadership in GT racing. Seeing the MCXtrema at Spa was a proud moment uniting our past and future as we look ahead to Maserati’s motorsport centenary.”

The next round of the GT2 European Series Powered by Pirelli will take place at Misano, Maserati’s home race in Italy, from 18 to 20 July. Expectations are high as the Trident looks to continue its winning momentum on home soil.
