Emirates Airline has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Crypto.com, marking a strategic move to explore the integration of Crypto.com Pay into its payment systems by next year. The agreement aligns with Dubai’s vision of becoming a global leader in financial innovation and supports the growing trend of digital currency adoption in the UAE.

The MoU was signed in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline & Group, alongside key executives from both organisations. The signatories included Adnan Kazim, Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer at Emirates, and Mohammed Al Hakim, President of Crypto.com’s UAE operations.

“This partnership reflects Emirates’ commitment to evolving with customer preferences and engaging younger, tech-savvy travellers,” said Adnan Kazim.
“It supports our goal of providing more flexible and innovative digital payment options.”

The initiative will focus on integrating Crypto.com Pay, a cryptocurrency payment solution, while adhering to strict security and compliance standards. Once implemented, it will allow Emirates customers to make purchases using select digital assets, offering greater choice in how they book flights, manage loyalty programs, or access services.

Eric Anziani, President and COO of Crypto.com, welcomed the collaboration:

“This agreement with Emirates represents a major milestone in mainstreaming crypto for real-world use. It brings momentum to the digital asset industry and helps advance the utility of crypto across the region.”

In addition to payment integration, both companies plan to collaborate on promotional campaigns to raise awareness and drive adoption of the new payment channel among Emirates customers.

The partnership arrives as Dubai continues to cement its reputation as a leading cryptocurrency hub, supported by a clear regulatory framework and a forward-thinking ecosystem. With real estate firms, telecom providers, and other major players already accepting crypto payments, Emirates’ entry into the space is seen as a natural next step in modernising commerce across sectors.

This MoU underscores Emirates’ broader ambition to leverage cutting-edge technology and innovation to enhance the travel experience and deepen engagement with future-forward customers.
