Global live entertainment leader Cirque du Soleil has joined forces with tech innovator Epson to launch its first permanent European show, ALIZÉ, in Berlin this November. The production will debut at the Theater am Potsdamer Platz, setting a new benchmark for theatrical immersion through a blend of world-class acrobatics and next-generation projection technology.
The collaboration was announced alongside the unveiling of the show’s concept — a surreal journey into the unseen, brought to life with Epson’s cutting-edge 3LCD laser projectors. These high-performance visuals are set to transform the stage into a dreamlike world, enhancing Cirque du Soleil’s signature artistry and storytelling.
ALIZÉ will be Cirque du Soleil’s 54th original production and represents a major milestone as it launches its first residency in Europe, following decades of global acclaim in North America, Asia, and the Middle East.
“This marks a strategic chapter in Cirque du Soleil’s evolution,” said Matthew Nickel, Chief Creation and Production Officer at Cirque du Soleil. “To establish our first European residency, we needed a partner who could elevate our creative ambitions. Epson’s projection technology gives us that edge.”
A Technological and Artistic First
The partnership highlights an emerging trend in live entertainment: the integration of immersive technologies to enhance audience experiences. With Epson on board as the Official Projector Partner, Cirque du Soleil is pushing the envelope in stagecraft and innovation.
ALIZÉ’s narrative centers around a fantastical voyage through an imagined world, where the audience will witness what appears to be impossible. Epson’s projectors will add dimension to the story by creating dynamic visual landscapes and illusions that interact seamlessly with performers.
“As we’re developing a show that aims to be visually groundbreaking, Epson is the right partner,” said Martin Dignard, Line Producer of ALIZÉ. “This production brings together stage magic and digital wizardry.”
Epson’s role in the production forms part of a broader collaboration with Cirque du Soleil announced in 2024. The alliance aims to explore new frontiers in creative storytelling and immersive entertainment, with ALIZÉ as the flagship endeavor.
“We are thrilled to support Cirque du Soleil’s bold vision,” said Richard Miller, Vice President of Commercial Marketing and Service at Epson America. “This is only the beginning of what we can achieve together.”
Looking Ahead
With its debut in November 2025, ALIZÉ is expected to attract international audiences to Berlin and redefine residency shows in Europe. Tickets will be available later this year, with demand expected to be high for this fusion of live performance, cinematic visuals, and technical precision.
As Cirque du Soleil and Epson join creative forces, ALIZÉ is poised to become not just a spectacle — but a milestone in the evolution of live entertainment.
