SBC Medical Expands with JUN CLINIC Acquisition

SBC Medical Group Holdings, a global aesthetic clinic operator, has acquired Japan-based MB career lounge Co., Ltd., bringing the renowned JUN CLINIC network under its umbrella in a move set to reshape the personalized beauty and wellness sector in Japan.

The transaction, announced on 17 July, was completed through a cash share purchase, marking a strategic expansion for SBC Medical in the fast-growing field of aesthetic dermatology and plastic surgery.

The acquisition includes JUN CLINIC, which operates in major Japanese locations including Shirokane, Ginza, Yokohama, and Nagano. Known for its customised laser treatments and non-invasive aesthetic procedures, the clinic has gained a loyal clientele for its personalised care and its team of board-certified dermatologists.

Yoshiyuki Aikawa, Founder and CEO of SBC Medical, described the acquisition as a timely alignment with emerging trends in lifestyle medicine.

“The surging demand for personalised aesthetic solutions underscores a rapidly expanding market,” said Aikawa. “JUN CLINIC’s proven success from regional Nagano to Tokyo’s urban centres demonstrates a scalable model. This partnership enables us to better serve our customers with broader, more specialised treatment options.”

Japan’s aesthetic medicine market, valued at ¥631 billion in 2024, has been growing steadily with a 6.2% year-on-year increase. As public interest in non-invasive and wellness-focused cosmetic procedures continues to rise, companies like SBC Medical are seeking to meet the evolving lifestyle expectations of clients across demographics.

JUN CLINIC’s service suite includes advanced laser therapies, thread lifts, and injectables—all tailored to individual skin profiles. The clinic is also recognised as a certified facility of the prestigious Customized Treatment Study Group, further strengthening its clinical reputation.

By integrating JUN CLINIC and MB career lounge—an HR and operations support firm for medical institutions—SBC Medical aims to enhance customer experience and ensure operational consistency across its expanding network.

Industry observers note that the shift toward customised aesthetic treatments reflects a broader cultural change in attitudes toward beauty, wellness, and self-care in Japan and across the globe. Consumers are now prioritising treatments that are both highly effective and seamlessly integrated into their lifestyles.

The move also highlights the growing overlap between healthcare and lifestyle sectors, where procedures that were once considered niche or luxury are becoming part of routine self-maintenance, especially among urban professionals and younger clients.

According to Aikawa, the acquisition is part of SBC Medical’s long-term growth strategy to diversify services and reduce overreliance on any single region or treatment modality.

“This marks another important step in our vision to make advanced aesthetic medicine more accessible and holistic,” he added.

With the addition of JUN CLINIC, SBC Medical reinforces its presence in Japan’s beauty and wellness market, promising customers greater access to cutting-edge services, and strengthening its position as a leader in the lifestyle health segment.
