Visa has announced an exclusive global ticket presale for the FIFA World Cup 26™, giving Visa cardholders the first opportunity to apply for tickets to the biggest tournament in football history.
Revealed during a high-profile reception at the Visa Payments Vault in Washington, D.C., the Visa Presale Draw marks the beginning of the official ticketing process. Attended by dignitaries from Canada, Mexico, and the United States, the event celebrated North America’s trilateral collaboration and the unifying power of football ahead of the first-ever tri-nation World Cup.
The presale period runs from September 10 to 19, allowing holders of Visa Debit, Credit, and prepaid cards worldwide to apply for entry into a randomized draw. Selected entrants will be notified via email from September 30 and will be assigned a time slot in October to purchase tickets before general sales begin. Visa will be the exclusive payment method during the presale window.
“This is an unprecedented moment for Visa — not only are we redefining how fans experience the game, but we are also bringing them closer than ever,” said Eduardo Coello, Visa’s Regional President for Latin America and the Caribbean. “As the official payment partner of FIFA, we’re thrilled to offer fans a gateway to the most inclusive and spectacular tournament in history.”
Fans are required to have a FIFA ID to apply. Visa urges football enthusiasts to visit FIFA.com/tickets to create an account if they haven’t already.
Kim Lawrence, Visa’s Regional President of North America, emphasized the broader impact of the partnership. “As we get closer to the tournament, Visa will also help communities and businesses prepare for the influx of visitors, ensuring the tournament’s economic benefits last long after the final whistle.”
Visa plans to support small and local businesses in host cities—ranging from food stalls in Mexico City to cafés in Vancouver—by providing insights and tools to help them make the most of increased footfall and tourism.
FIFA Chief Business Officer Romy Gai added, “A ticket to the FIFA World Cup™ isn’t just a seat in a stadium—it’s access to a global celebration. We’re proud to partner with Visa once again to lead fans to this extraordinary event.”
The FIFA World Cup 2026™ will span 48 teams, 104 matches, and 39 days across 16 cities in Canada, the US, and Mexico—making it the largest and most inclusive tournament ever.
Visa, a partner of FIFA since 2007, continues to innovate with fan-first experiences while driving economic inclusion and digital payment access globally.
