ZAPI GROUP, a global leader in electrification and industrial automation, has announced the acquisition of a majority stake in Stercom Power Solutions, a German pioneer in intelligent charging and energy storage systems. The acquisition marks a significant step forward in ZAPI’s strategy to expand its technological footprint in the growing e-mobility and energy storage sectors.

Based in Bavaria, Stercom Power Solutions is known for developing high-voltage on-board chargers and advanced energy storage systems that support both electric mobility and industrial applications. These innovations are expected to play a critical role in shaping the future of electric drive systems.

By integrating Stercom’s advanced charging technologies, ZAPI GROUP aims to bolster its position as a frontrunner in electric powertrain development, while responding to the increasing global demand for scalable, efficient, and intelligent charging infrastructure.

“This acquisition represents an important milestone in our growth strategy and demonstrates our ongoing commitment to expanding our capabilities to better serve our customers,” said Mr. Giannino Zanichelli, founder and owner of ZAPI GROUP. “Stercom’s innovative product portfolio and its talented team will strengthen our ability to deliver next-generation charging solutions and help drive the future of electrification.”

The deal is expected to enhance ZAPI GROUP’s R&D capabilities and broaden its product offerings in high-demand areas such as high-voltage charging and integrated energy storage solutions. The move also aligns with global shifts toward greener, electrified transport solutions as industries increasingly seek energy-efficient alternatives.

Stercom Power Solutions will continue to operate as an independent entity within the group, maintaining its base in Germany while aligning strategically with ZAPI’s global operations. Both companies have pledged a seamless integration process that ensures operational continuity and uninterrupted support for Stercom’s existing customer base.

Industry analysts view the move as a strategic consolidation in the electrification space, positioning ZAPI GROUP to better address the complex technical challenges of next-gen charging systems — from compact on-board units to grid-scale storage infrastructure.

The acquisition follows a broader trend across Europe and Asia where technology companies are strengthening their electrification portfolios through mergers and partnerships, as governments and markets continue to push toward sustainable mobility and energy goals.

ZAPI GROUP, headquartered in Italy, has long established itself as a major player in electric drive systems, automation, and motion control. With this acquisition, the company now deepens its commitment to innovation in energy storage and charging — two technologies at the heart of the transition to a carbon-neutral future.

Stercom’s technology complements ZAPI’s existing capabilities, and the collaboration is expected to accelerate the deployment of robust, intelligent, and adaptive charging systems across multiple sectors.

As the electric mobility sector evolves, such strategic moves are not only about scaling but also about shaping the technological foundations of the industry. And in this space, ZAPI GROUP is clearly charging ahead.
