Audi has officially introduced the latest generation of its A6 models in Oman, including the much-anticipated fully electric A6 e-tron. The launch signals a dual approach to the brand’s future: refining combustion technology while embracing electrification.
With more than three decades of history, the A6 nameplate has long defined executive comfort and understated performance. In Oman, where driving demands range from city commutes to long desert roads, Audi says the new models have been tailored to balance versatility, range, and refinement.
Combustion, reimagined
The all-new A6 is built on Audi’s Premium Platform Combustion (PPC) and is offered in both Sedan and Avant body styles. Engine options span from 204 hp to 367 hp, with mild hybrid technology featured in select variants to boost fuel efficiency and reduce emissions.
Adaptive air suspension, all-wheel steering, and Audi’s quattro ultra system promise stability and precision whether navigating urban streets or open highways. The redesigned A6 Sedan also delivers the most aerodynamic profile of any combustion Audi to date, achieving a drag coefficient of just 0.23.
Entering the electric era
The A6 e-tron, based on Audi’s Premium Platform Electric (PPE), is available in three Sportback versions and a high-performance S6 Sportback e-tron. With outputs ranging from 327 hp to 551 hp with launch control, the electric models are positioned as both practical and performance-oriented.
Boasting a WLTP-tested range of up to 756 km, the A6 e-tron currently offers the longest range in Audi’s electric portfolio. Its aerodynamic Sportback design, with a drag coefficient of 0.21, plays a key role in maximising efficiency.
Thanks to 800-volt charging technology, the vehicle can recharge from 10 to 80 percent in just 21 minutes, or regain 300 km of range in 10 minutes – performance designed for the region’s fast-paced lifestyle.
Shared DNA, distinct futures
While differentiated by their powertrains, both the combustion and electric A6 models share a new interior architecture. A curved panoramic display, combining a 14.5-inch driver screen with an 11.9-inch passenger display, anchors the cabin.
Premium materials, clean design, and practical features such as a panoramic sunroof and OLED taillights aim to blend elegance with functionality. Advanced options include an augmented reality head-up display and communication taillights for enhanced safety.
The A6 e-tron is assembled at Audi’s net carbon-neutral Ingolstadt plant in Germany, reflecting the brand’s pledge to electrify all core segments by 2027.
Regional significance
Christian Nehme, General Manager of Premium Motors Oman, said the A6 remains a cornerstone of Audi’s success in the Sultanate. “With the arrival of the all-new A6 models and the fully electric A6 e-tron, we are building on that legacy with two distinct yet equally compelling expressions of progress,” he said.
