Hytera, a global provider of professional communications technology, has announced the launch of its P30 Lite PoC Radio — a compact, lightweight, and durable device aimed at enhancing communication and efficiency for professionals in industries such as security, retail, hospitality, transportation, and facility management.
The device, weighing just 170 grams, is designed for comfort during long shifts and features one-handed operation. It also integrates Text-to-Speech (TTS), which provides real-time updates on battery levels, network status, and talk group changes. This allows staff to stay focused on their tasks without having to glance at the screen — a function considered particularly valuable for security and frontline workers.
Clear communication in noisy environments
A 36mm speaker and 3W audio output ensure messages are audible, delivering up to 105dB of distortion-free sound. Hytera says the clarity is maintained even in challenging environments such as event venues, busy transport hubs, or crowded retail spaces.
Smarter field operations with NFC
One of the standout features of the P30 Lite is its programmable NFC capability, which enables functions well beyond traditional push-to-talk. Depending on deployment, the NFC tags can be customised for:
- Security patrols: guiding guards with voice prompts, updating routes remotely, and logging checkpoints to the cloud in real time.
- Access control: enabling quick and secure staff authentication for restricted zones or events.
- Task and attendance logging: recording staff check-ins, confirming completion of duties, or triggering automated status reports.
The system supports up to five custom profiles, with each profile holding as many as 20 tagged points. This flexibility allows a single device to switch roles seamlessly, whether coordinating hotel guest services or supervising large-scale event security.
Connectivity and durability
The P30 Lite operates on the Hytera HyTalk PoC platform, which leverages nationwide cellular networks to maintain stable communication. Features such as automatic audio recovery and high-precision positioning using GPS, GLONASS, or BDS provide accurate location tracking within 10 metres, even in areas with weak signals.
The device is built for resilience, carrying an IP54 rating for water and dust resistance, and is tested for drops of up to 1.2 metres. A 3300mAh detachable battery offers up to 33 hours of use in typical duty cycles, while hot-swapping ensures uninterrupted communication during longer or overlapping shifts.
Industry perspective
“With the P30 Lite, we wanted to create more than just a smaller PoC radio — we designed a versatile, NFC-powered communications tool that adapts to the specific workflows of different industries,” said Shaofeng Li, Product Director of Hytera Group. “This flexibility makes it equally valuable in a hotel, a shopping centre, a transport station, or during a security patrol.”
By combining reliable audio, smart NFC integration, and a rugged design, the P30 Lite positions itself as a multi-industry solution for teams seeking to improve coordination, security, and efficiency in demanding environments.
