Ski Dubai, in collaboration with the Dubai Sports Council, is preparing to stage the 16th edition of the Ice Warrior Challenge on Sunday, 14 September 2025. The event will be held inside the award-winning Ski Dubai Snow Park at the Mall of the Emirates, voted the World’s Best Indoor Ski Resort.
Organisers say this year’s edition has already surpassed previous records for registration, with only a limited number of places left before the September 12 cut-off date. Demand has been so high that they expect tickets to sell out quickly through Premier Online.
A test of strength and endurance
The snow arena will be transformed into an icy battleground, featuring more than 20 obstacles designed to push competitors to their physical and mental limits. The course includes rope climbs, icy water swims, monkey bars, wheel races, net crawls, and slippery ramps.
The challenge, organisers say, is not only about stamina but also about teamwork, with many of the obstacles requiring coordination and group effort.
Global appeal in the desert
The Ice Warrior Challenge has built a reputation as one of the UAE’s most distinctive endurance events, drawing participants from around the world. Competitors range in age from 15 to 60, with both seasoned athletes and fitness newcomers taking part.
Last year, more than 600 participants representing 70 countries joined the challenge, and this year’s turnout is expected to be even higher.
“The Ice Warrior Challenge has become a highlight on Dubai’s sporting calendar,” an organiser said. “It combines fitness, fun, and community spirit in a truly unique winter setting right in the heart of the desert.”
Categories for every level
This year’s competition will be split into three categories:
- Elite Category (AED 280) – Designed for advanced athletes aiming to complete the course in under 25 minutes.
- Individual Category (AED 250) – Open to all fitness levels.
- Team Category (AED 200 per participant) – For groups of five, encouraging collaboration and camaraderie.
New spectator experience
For the first time, Ski Dubai is offering a spectator ticket, priced at AED 50. This provides family and friends with prime viewing areas overlooking the obstacle course, along with a complimentary hot drink.
Organisers believe the addition of a dedicated spectator experience will further boost the atmosphere of the event, turning it into a community day out as well as a competition.
Register before the deadline
With registration closing on 12 September and slots running out, Ski Dubai is encouraging interested participants to act quickly.
The Ice Warrior Challenge continues to grow as a flagship endurance event, combining Dubai’s love for innovation with its ability to host world-class sporting spectacles.
