Boursa Kuwait has reaffirmed its commitment to corporate social responsibility by extending its strategic partnership with the Kuwait Association for the Care of Children in Hospital (KACCH) and Bayt Abdullah Children’s Hospice (BACCH) for the eighth consecutive year.
The collaboration supports a wide range of healthcare and community initiatives aimed at improving the quality of care and emotional support provided to children in hospitals and their families.
Among the most significant projects this year was the contribution to the design and furnishing of a ‘Family Room’ within the Intensive Care Unit at Al-Adan Hospital for Maternity and Childhood. Unlike traditional hospital wards, the room offers families a private and comforting space where they can remain close to their children during treatment, while also facilitating crucial discussions with medical staff.
Boursa Kuwait’s efforts also extended to providing electric wheelchairs for children with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD), giving them greater independence and mobility. In addition, the exchange supplied My Lecky Walker devices to children with developmental delays, helping them build balance and improve movement.
Healthcare professionals across nine hospitals in Kuwait were also equipped with specialized tools to better prepare children for medical procedures. These resources were designed not only to ease anxiety but also to give young patients the opportunity to express their feelings in supportive ways.
Naser M. Al-Sanousi, Senior Director of Marketing and Communication at Boursa Kuwait, said the exchange’s partnership with KACCH and BACCH reflects its long-term commitment to building a sustainable and supportive environment for vulnerable communities.
“Our partnership represents an investment in initiatives that contribute to building a brighter and more sustainable future,” Al-Sanousi said.
In 2024 alone, Boursa Kuwait’s support enabled nearly 34,000 services across eight hospitals. These included therapeutic play environments that provided children with safe spaces to ease fears and face medical challenges with resilience.
KACCH & BACCH CEO and Director of Clinical Services, Dr. Tala Al-Dabbous, praised the enduring partnership. “Their generous support has made a transformative impact in developing therapeutic environments for children in hospitals across Kuwait, easing their suffering and providing vital psychological and emotional support,” she said.
The collaboration aligns with Boursa Kuwait’s ‘Community’ pillar under its Corporate Sustainability strategy, while also supporting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 10 on reducing inequalities and Goal 17 on partnerships.
KACCH and BACCH operate child life and therapeutic play programmes in eight hospitals, working with doctors, nurses, and healthcare specialists to provide psychological and emotional support for children. Bayt Abdullah Children’s Hospice also delivers palliative care for children facing life-threatening conditions.
Through this long-standing partnership, Boursa Kuwait continues to demonstrate how public-private collaboration can positively influence healthcare services and the well-being of vulnerable communities in Kuwait.
