In a move set to reshape how emotional and behavioral development is integrated into classrooms, AnaAkhtar, the first EdTech platform in the MENA region focused on social, emotional, and behavioral (SEB) learning, has signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the University of Jordan.
The signing ceremony, held at the university’s campus in Amman, brought together leading figures in regional education. The MoU was officially signed by H.E. Dr. Nathir Obeidat, President of the University of Jordan, and Ms. Eman Al Otaibi, Founder and CEO of AnaAkhtar, underscoring a shared commitment to embedding emotional intelligence and behavioral well-being into education systems across Jordan and the wider Arab world.
Adding further significance to the occasion was the presence of H.E. Prof. Dr. Adnan Badran, Chairman of the Board of Trustees at the university and a globally recognised advocate for education and science. His attendance highlighted the national and regional weight of the partnership.
The collaboration between AnaAkhtar and the University of Jordan focuses on three key areas: academic research, curriculum integration, and regional cooperation to promote the adoption of SEB tools in both schools and higher education institutions.
“The AnaAkhtar platform is already developed and has been piloted across selected schools in the region,” said Eman Al Otaibi. “Through this partnership, we aim to strengthen its academic foundation and explore impactful ways to support students, families, and educators throughout the Arab world.”
AnaAkhtar offers an interactive, culturally contextual digital platform tailored for students, educators, and parents. It features exercises, lessons, and tools designed to enhance emotional intelligence, behavioral regulation, empathy, and decision-making—skills that are increasingly recognised as essential for student success in both academic and life settings.
The University of Jordan, as the country’s flagship public university, brings to the partnership academic rigor and regional credibility. Dr. Nathir Obeidat emphasised the significance of the collaboration:
“We believe in nurturing the whole student—not just intellectually, but emotionally and socially. This partnership with AnaAkhtar supports our mission to modernise our approach to learning and prepare our students for the challenges of the future.”
The MoU also sets the stage for joint academic studies, pilot projects, and faculty collaboration, aiming to measure the long-term impact of SEB education on academic performance and personal development.
As the Arab world increasingly turns its focus toward student well-being, mental health, and character development, the partnership between AnaAkhtar and the University of Jordan may serve as a regional blueprint. By integrating social and emotional education into mainstream curricula, both institutions hope to foster more resilient, empathetic, and well-rounded future leaders.
This agreement represents not just a shift in educational content, but a broader cultural investment in the emotional lives of learners—an area long under-addressed in traditional education systems across the region.
