Axis Communications, the global surveillance technology leader, has highlighted its partnership with Moro Hub, Dubai’s premier digital infrastructure provider, in a new customer success story that underscores the role of integrated security in the city’s digital transformation.
The collaboration illustrates how Moro Hub, a subsidiary of Digital DEWA, is deploying Axis’s multi-layered security solutions across its smart, sustainable data centres to protect assets while aligning with Dubai’s ambitions for autonomy and innovation.
Ettiene van der Watt, Regional Director at Axis Communications, said the rapid growth of cloud services and the Internet of Things was intensifying the need for secure data facilities across the Middle East. “With infrastructure playing such a critical role in everyday consumer and business life, operators must confront the challenge of protecting their facilities with a comprehensive security strategy,” he explained. “That is why Axis has prioritised data centres as a key segment offering, enabling customers with solutions that align with their commitments to security, technology and sustainability.”
Axis has partnered with Moro Hub since both were established in 2018, supporting its evolving operational needs with advanced surveillance and access control systems. Moro Hub provides next-generation cloud, digital, and cybersecurity services to clients worldwide, positioning itself as a regional leader in smart data handling.
Ayman Al Khizaimi, Director of Data Center and Facility Operations at Moro Hub, said the company’s customers expect strong safeguards against both cyber and physical threats. “We worked closely with Axis to upgrade our systems, and the result is a multi-layered solution that combines different technologies while keeping the door open to future integrations and optimisation,” he said.
The security framework deployed at Moro Hub begins at the perimeter, using Axis’s Perimeter Defender Solution to monitor entry and exit points, and extends into individual server rooms and racks. Measures include network cameras, road blockers, biometric scanners, motion detectors and modular surveillance systems. The infrastructure is designed to be scalable, enabling new technologies to be integrated as the threat landscape evolves.
According to Al Khizaimi, holistic planning was central to the project. “By leveraging multiple technologies across every corner of the facility, we reduce the risk of vulnerabilities. Beyond protection, Axis provides ongoing aftersales support, compliance assistance, and system updates, laying the foundation for long-term efficiency,” he added.
Sustainability has also been a defining feature of the partnership. Moro Hub, which positions itself as a “green” data centre provider, uses Axis’s Zipstream technology to cut the energy consumption of its video systems by reducing bandwidth and storage needs.
Van der Watt said this alignment was crucial. “Moro Hub takes the environmental impact of our industry seriously. Together we are reducing carbon footprints while building awareness of renewable energy and waste management. Through this collaboration, physical security becomes part of the wider sustainability journey,” he concluded.
With the Middle East’s data centre sector expected to expand sharply in the coming years, both companies say their partnership serves as a model for how security, technology and sustainability can converge in one integrated platform.
