As part of its commitment to empowering youth and fostering sustainability through education, Burgan Bank welcomed students from the ‘Academy X’ program for an immersive field visit at its headquarters. The initiative aimed to enhance financial literacy, introduce students to the banking sector, and highlight career opportunities—particularly in technology and digital banking.

Organized in collaboration with CODED Academy, the visit gave students an up-close look at the inner workings of the bank. They were introduced to a range of departments, customer-focused services, and Burgan’s innovative digital offerings that align with its digital transformation strategy.

The tour was also a key activation of Burgan’s continued support for the “Let’s Be Aware” (Diraya) campaign, launched by the Central Bank of Kuwait and Kuwait Banking Association, with the backing of Kuwaiti banks. Students were educated about safe online banking practices, common fraud prevention techniques, and the importance of financial planning and savings—in line with Burgan Bank’s “Teach Them Young” campaign.

Ms. Hessa Hussain Al-Najadah, Senior Manager – Corporate and CSR Communications at Burgan Bank, expressed her enthusiasm for the initiative:

“It was a pleasure to host the ‘Academy X’ students and witness their genuine curiosity and enthusiasm about the banking industry. This visit not only gave them exposure to the financial sector but also equipped them with the awareness and tools necessary for smart financial decision-making.”

She further emphasized that the visit reflects Burgan’s role in supporting sustainable development goals, particularly those related to education, youth empowerment, and building a financially literate society.

“We remain committed to initiatives that empower the next generation to become active contributors to Kuwait’s growing knowledge-based economy.”

The ‘Academy X’ program is the largest initiative in Kuwait focused on empowering women in technology and entrepreneurship, made possible through a strategic partnership between Burgan Bank and CODED Academy. The program provides training in UI/UX design, AI tools, and entrepreneurial principles, while developing leadership and communication skills.

Graduates of the program are supported with mentorship opportunities to help launch their own startups—encouraging real-world application of their digital skills. The field visit to Burgan Bank marked another milestone in the program’s goal to inspire and equip young women to thrive in the tech-driven economy of the future.

As digital innovation continues to reshape Kuwait’s financial landscape, initiatives like this underscore the vital role of public-private partnerships in preparing youth for the evolving job market—particularly in fintech and digital services.
