Burgan Bank has launched its first-ever “Bring Your Kids to Work Day”, opening its corporate doors to the children of employees for a day of discovery, creativity, and learning.

Held at the bank’s headquarters, the initiative welcomed children aged between five and fifteen to experience the world of banking in an interactive and family-focused setting.

The event was designed to go beyond simple entertainment, reflecting Burgan Bank’s wider commitment to employee wellbeing, family engagement, and sustainability. It forms part of the bank’s “Teach Them Young” campaign, an initiative aimed at broadening the professional and practical horizons of young people, while nurturing a conscious and responsible generation.

A hands-on introduction to banking

Children were introduced to the fundamentals of banking through immersive activities, including a simulated bank branch experience and interactive workshops on recycling and sustainability. Participants also took part in challenges designed to build confidence, such as selling self-made products and presenting ideas.

The day’s highlights included a “Junior Banker of the Day” experience, art and craft sessions, cake decoration, a treasure hunt inside the bank’s premises, and even a mini-Olympics to encourage teamwork. Older children of Burgan employees also assisted as mentors, guiding their peers through the activities.

Connecting values across generations

Naqeeb Amin, General Manager of Human Resources and Development for the Group at Burgan Bank, said the event underscored the bank’s belief that work is about more than just business:

“Welcoming our employees’ children into our corporate world is a powerful way to connect values across generations, spark curiosity, and show what purpose-driven banking looks like,” he said.

The initiative also links directly to the “Let’s Be Aware” (Diraya) financial literacy campaign, launched by the Central Bank of Kuwait and the Kuwait Banking Association, with the support of Kuwaiti banks.

Building a people-first workplace

The event was supported by Burgan’s team of employee volunteers and reflects the bank’s core values of trust, commitment, excellence, progression, and people-first thinking. By blending fun with professional exposure, the bank hopes to build a culture of inclusion and purpose that resonates across generations.

Burgan Bank’s management has positioned the programme as part of its wider Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) strategy, reinforcing its reputation as a certified Great Place to Work®.

The “Bring Your Kids to Work Day” illustrates how financial institutions are expanding their role beyond traditional banking, by actively engaging with families, instilling values of responsibility in younger generations, and demonstrating the human side of corporate life.

For Burgan Bank, it was not just a day for children—it was a message about the bank’s long-term vision: to remain a progressive, innovative, and people-centric institution, driven by purpose and dedicated to inspiring future generations.
