In a spirited celebration of academic excellence, Burgan Bank has honoured Kuwait’s top-achieving high school graduates of 2025 in a special ceremony held in cooperation with the Ministry of Education.

The event, which took place in Kuwait City, brought together students, parents, bank executives, and senior education officials in recognition of outstanding achievements across science, arts, and special education disciplines.

Among the dignitaries attending were Ms. Maryam Al-Enezi, Assistant Undersecretary for Educational Development and Activities at the Ministry of Education, and Mr. Fadel Abdullah, CEO – Kuwait at Burgan Bank. Senior executives from the Bank, including Mr. Naqeeb Amin, General Manager – Human Resources and Development, were also present.

In a joint effort to promote education and youth development, the ceremony aimed to applaud not just academic success, but the determination and resilience of students—particularly those from special education schools.

Addressing the audience, Mr. Abdullah congratulated the students and expressed pride in their accomplishments, describing them as a reflection of hard work and dedication. “This achievement is not just yours, but a moment of honour for Kuwait as a whole,” he said.

Ms. Al-Enezi praised the private-public partnership, commending Burgan Bank for its role in encouraging excellence. “Such initiatives help shape a generation driven by ambition and guided by values,” she remarked. “This collaboration sets an important example of national responsibility in action.”

Symbolic trophies and commemorative gifts were presented to the honourees, who also shared their hopes and goals for the future. The children of Burgan Bank employees who had excelled academically were also recognised.

In alignment with its wider corporate social responsibility (CSR) goals, Burgan Bank used the event to spotlight internal achievements as well. Employees who earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees under the Bank’s educational development programs, including “Kafa’a” and “Burgan Cares,” received accolades for their pursuit of continuous learning.

The ceremony also marked the announcement of a new educational initiative: a workshop for the honoured students, organised in partnership with Coded Academy. The program will focus on AI and coding, equipping students with digital skills vital for future industries. It will also feature a session aligned with the Central Bank of Kuwait’s “Let’s Be Aware” (Diraya) campaign to raise financial literacy.

“We believe that empowering youth is an investment in Kuwait’s future,” Mr. Amin said. “By linking educational achievement with skill-building opportunities, we are preparing a generation ready to lead.”

Burgan Bank’s initiative is aligned with Kuwait Vision 2035 and reflects its long-standing focus on sustainability and talent development. As the ceremony concluded, participants shared in a moment of collective pride, underscoring a national commitment to education, innovation, and social responsibility.

The bank reaffirmed its ongoing support for programs that enable student success and strengthen the foundation for a knowledge-based society.
