Caparol Paints Expands Retail Footprint in Middle East

Caparol Paints, a global leader in high-performance coatings, has announced a significant expansion across the Middle East, underscoring its ambitions in one of the world’s fastest-growing construction markets.

The company reported a 35% increase in sales across the region in 2024, driven by the success of its flagship products and a widening retail footprint. This includes the launch of new product lines tailored to the region’s harsh climate and continued investment in sustainable, climate-adapted building solutions.

First entering the UAE market in 1998, the German paint manufacturer has steadily grown its reputation for delivering durable, environmentally conscious coatings. In recent years, Caparol has responded to growing demand in the Gulf by expanding retail channels, investing in local manufacturing, and deepening its presence across both commercial and residential segments.

“Caparol sees the Middle East as a priority growth region,” said Dirk Schilmöller, Managing Director for the Middle East, Africa & Asia. “With a booming real estate sector and the regional paints and coatings market projected to reach over $8.5 billion by 2035, we are well-positioned to deliver innovative solutions that meet local performance and sustainability needs.”

The company’s best-selling exterior product, CapaStone, is among the solutions tailored for the Gulf’s heat and humidity. Manufactured in Caparol’s Dubai facility, the full range now includes low-VOC paints and weather-resistant coatings designed for energy efficiency and long-term performance.

The company has also doubled its business in Exterior Insulation and Finish Systems (EIFS) over the past two years, aligning with regional priorities around energy efficiency and sustainable building codes. This system is seen as critical to reducing building energy consumption, a key target under the UAE’s Vision 2031 for sustainable development.

In addition to product development, Caparol is scaling its support for industry professionals, offering technical services, colour consultancy, and certified training programmes. These efforts aim to ensure project success from specification to execution, across major developments in housing, hospitality, and commercial real estate.

Caparol’s growing client list includes several high-profile developments in the UAE, including collaborations with leading architects and interior designers. The company’s investments in innovation and training have helped it stand out in a competitive market, especially as construction trends shift toward sustainable materials and design.

As the Middle East urbanises at pace, Caparol’s focus on energy-efficient coatings, healthy indoor environments, and durability in extreme climates has helped it cement its position as a long-term industry partner.

“With every expansion and innovation, we are reinforcing our commitment to the region’s future,” Schilmöller added. “We want to empower the construction and design communities with solutions that not only look great but also last longer and perform better.”

Caparol’s next stage of growth will include further retail expansion and product launches designed specifically for the Gulf’s evolving building landscape.
