The world’s largest indoor skydiving chamber is hosting a spectacular seven-day contest, as CLYMB™ Yas Island Abu Dhabi launches its Air Competition Qualifiers.

From September 1 to 7, 2025, 36 elite flyers from around the globe will showcase breathtaking displays of skill, speed and precision. The contest serves as the official qualifier for the Emirates EASA International Parachuting Championships (EEIPC), set to debut in January 2026 as the first hybrid skydiving competition in history.

Over the course of the week, competitors will push the boundaries of human flight inside CLYMB’s record-breaking vertical wind tunnel. The chamber, a landmark attraction in Abu Dhabi, provides the ultimate stage for solo racers vying for a place in the groundbreaking 2026 championship.

Accessible to fans
The event is free to attend, with both practice and qualifying sessions open to spectators. Training sessions run until Thursday from 17:30 to 20:00. The official qualifiers take place across three days: Friday and Saturday from 17:30 to 20:00, and Sunday from 16:00 to 19:00, when the final group of competitors will battle for their chance at international recognition.

Organisers say the qualifiers are expected to draw a lively crowd of enthusiasts and newcomers, eager to witness the future of competitive skydiving. Fans will watch competitors navigate gravity-defying manoeuvres, where every second and every angle can determine victory.

Path to the global stage
The EEIPC, scheduled for January 2026, will be a historic first. Blending indoor and outdoor disciplines, it promises to redefine the sport by combining the adrenaline of freefall with the precision of controlled indoor flight. Winners from the Abu Dhabi qualifiers will secure their place at this landmark event, representing the pinnacle of human aerial performance.

For CLYMB™ Abu Dhabi, the qualifiers underline its growing role as a hub for extreme sports and experiential tourism. With its towering flight chamber and climbing facilities, it has become a regional icon for adventure seekers.

Try it yourself
Beyond the spectacle of the qualifiers, visitors also have the chance to take flight themselves. CLYMB™ offers indoor skydiving experiences for guests of all ages and abilities, guided by expert instructors. Whether for family fun, personal training, or even a first step towards competition, the attraction allows participants to discover the exhilaration of flight in a safe and controlled setting.

With the qualifiers underway, anticipation is building for the weekend’s final rounds. For the athletes, a coveted place at the EEIPC is at stake. For spectators, the event offers a glimpse into the artistry and athleticism of a sport poised for a transformative future.
