In a city renowned for ambition and spectacle, Accor is inviting Dubai residents to pause and rediscover a quieter side of the emirate with a staycation in the Gold District and Deira.
Long associated with trade and tradition, the area is offering something different to the usual weekend getaway — not an escape from the city, but a new perspective on it. With room rates from AED 130, curated dining from AED 100, and themed nights at Novotel Dubai Gold District from AED 79, Accor says it is offering residents “a chance to see the familiar through unfamiliar eyes.”
The district’s three Accor properties — Novotel, Mercure and ibis Styles — are highlighting their distinct atmospheres. Novotel Dubai Gold District offers skyline views from its rooftop Aqua Pool Bar and newly launched Sunday morning yoga sessions. Mercure Dubai Gold District focuses on understated elegance, with Mediterranean dining at Esperia Bistro & Rooftop Lounge and organic breakfasts at Farmstead, using ingredients from its own garden. ibis Styles adds a vibrant, budget-friendly option, serving Asian fusion, Indian classics and Arabic favourites at Table 3.
The experience extends beyond the hotel walls. Guests can wander through the Gold and Spice Souks, take traditional abra rides across Dubai Creek, or explore nearby attractions such as Al Seef, the Mohammed Bin Rashid Library and Jaddaf Waterfront.
Dining plays a central role in the staycation concept, from relaxed mornings with artisan coffee at Wynd Café to unhurried dinners at The Spicery in Novotel, where grilled spices and slow-cooked dishes are paired with skyline views.
Accor says the staycation is designed without the pressure of packed itineraries, encouraging visitors to explore at their own pace and embrace a slower rhythm. “It begins simply — with a check-in, not a departure,” the brand notes.
For many, the appeal lies in seeing the city not as a commuter or a hurried resident, but as a guest. As the company puts it, “Sometimes, the most meaningful journeys don’t take you far — they bring you home to your city, your rhythm, your story.”
