Emirates Aviation University (EAU) celebrated a significant milestone this week as it held its 35th graduation ceremony, honouring 154 accomplished students poised to make their mark in the global aviation industry. Since its inception in 1991, EAU has graduated over 26,000 students, contributing substantially to both the UAE’s and the world’s aviation workforce.

The event was attended by His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline and Group and Chancellor of EAU, who personally presented certificates to the graduates. Also present were senior Emirates Group executives, faculty members, and proud families and friends.

Speaking at the ceremony, HH Sheikh Ahmed remarked: “Emirates Aviation University’s contribution to nation building, particularly in the aviation sector, is well recognised. It has been a vital centre for education, research, and development. Our commitment to EAU remains strong as we continue to invest in its future. Congratulations to our graduates – they are ready to lead.”

This year’s graduating class represents over 25 nationalities, reflecting the diverse and global nature of the aviation field. Students earned qualifications across a wide range of disciplines including aviation management, safety, air transport management, aerospace, and aeronautical engineering.

Of the 154 graduates, 130 completed undergraduate degrees while 24 completed postgraduate programmes, including a number of Emirates-sponsored students. The university also recognised 19 outstanding graduates for academic excellence across all faculties.

Professor Ahmad Al Ali, Vice-Chancellor of EAU, praised the students for their resilience and commitment. “This generation is entering the aviation industry during a period of transformation. Their skills and innovation are essential to the sector’s future. Their achievements speak to the quality of education and experience at EAU.”

EAU’s close ties with the Emirates Group continue to provide students with valuable industry exposure. Over the past four years, more than 650 undergraduate students have completed internships with the Emirates Group, participating in real-world projects for an entire semester. These placements contribute up to 15 credit hours towards their degrees, giving students a practical edge in an increasingly competitive field.

As Emirates Aviation University celebrates over three decades of academic excellence, it remains a critical pipeline for talent in a sector that is continuously evolving—and increasingly vital to global connectivity and economic development.
