Saudi Arabia has made yet another landmark achievement on the global motorsport stage. The 2025 Jeddah E-Prix double-header has become the most-watched Formula E weekend in history, attracting a record 65 million global cumulative viewers, according to data released by Kantar Media.

Staged under the lights of the iconic Jeddah Corniche Circuit on February 14–15, the races marked the debut of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship in Jeddah after six successful seasons in Diriyah. The thrilling night races not only showcased world-class electric racing but also solidified the Kingdom’s growing reputation as a premier international motorsport hub.

The Jeddah event featured intense racing action and an electrifying atmosphere that resonated with audiences worldwide. Formula E has now confirmed that Jeddah will continue to host the championship’s only double-header night races for Season 12, scheduled for February 13–14, 2026.

The 2024–25 season, Formula E’s 11th, has seen explosive growth in global engagement, with the cumulative audience expected to surpass 500 million viewers by the season’s end in July. Additional data from Emplifi shows that Formula E’s digital reach continues to expand, with a 13% year-on-year increase in video views and a 12% rise in social media engagement—a testament to the sport’s thriving online community.

Speaking about the growth, Jeff Dodds, CEO of Formula E, said:

“The latest figures from our external providers are truly phenomenal. They highlight not only the world-leading technology and acceleration in our cars, but that we’re delivering the best, most competitive racing that fans—old and new—can’t get enough of.”

Other record-breaking viewership milestones this season include:

  • Mexico City (Round 2) set the highest-ever single-race TV audience for Formula E, with 44 million viewers worldwide.
  • The CBS broadcast of the Mexico City race reached 11 million viewers in the US, making it the most-watched Formula E event in the country.
  • Monaco (Round 8) saw a 25% rise in French viewership compared to Season 10.
  • Tokyo (Round 9) posted a 20% increase in Japanese audience figures, becoming the most-watched Formula E race in Japan.

Formula E continues to attract new fans while building lasting loyalty in key markets. As interest in sustainable, electric racing surges, the championship is establishing itself as one of the fastest-growing and most relevant sports properties globally.

With high-stakes rivalries, pioneering technology, and immersive fan experiences, Formula E is charging ahead—both on the track and across digital platforms.
