InterContinental Abu Dhabi Hotel & Residences has appointed Erika Anggreini as its new Cluster Assistant Director of Marketing, tasking her with shaping the strategic marketing vision for both the landmark hotel and its premium residences.
The appointment signals a strengthening of the cluster’s leadership team as it looks to reinforce its position in the capital’s luxury hospitality market.
Opened in 1981 to host the inaugural GCC Summit, InterContinental Abu Dhabi remains one of the city’s most recognisable five-star properties. Its sister development, InterContinental Residences Abu Dhabi, provides long-stay accommodation tailored to modern travellers seeking service excellence and comfort.
A seasoned hospitality marketer
Anggreini brings nearly 20 years of marketing experience across the Middle East and Asia, with a career spanning property-level and regional leadership roles. She began her career in Oman at Al Bustan Palace, a Ritz-Carlton Hotel, before moving to Dubai to manage integrated campaigns at The Ritz-Carlton, DIFC.
She later joined Archipelago International in a regional role, overseeing marketing for a portfolio of more than 200 properties across Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and the Caribbean. Most recently, she served as Director of Marketing at InterContinental Fujairah Resort, where she drove brand positioning and digital engagement to elevate the resort’s international profile.
Her expertise in developing guest-focused campaigns, coupled with a track record of creative yet commercially effective strategies, positions her as a strong addition to the Abu Dhabi cluster.
Strengthening brand presence in Abu Dhabi
In her new role, Anggreini will oversee brand narratives and digital strategies for both InterContinental Abu Dhabi and InterContinental Residences Abu Dhabi. Her remit includes enhancing the positioning of the cluster’s dining outlets, accelerating digital engagement, and forging partnerships that support the properties’ long-term brand visibility.
She will also guide lifestyle programming and community initiatives designed to create meaningful connections with both international travellers and Abu Dhabi residents.
Sayed Tayoun, Cluster General Manager, welcomed her appointment, saying:
“Her deep understanding of the region, coupled with her creative leadership and collaborative spirit, makes her an exceptional fit for this exciting chapter. We are confident Erika’s dynamic approach and extensive experience will further shape the cluster’s brand presence—delivering thoughtful storytelling, impactful campaigns, and guest connections that resonate beyond the stay.”
A pivotal moment for the cluster
The appointment comes as Abu Dhabi continues to position itself as a global hub for tourism, hospitality, and luxury living. InterContinental Abu Dhabi is seeking to evolve its guest offering through culinary innovation, lifestyle events, and community engagement, while the residences aim to meet the growing demand for high-end long-stay options.
By bringing in Anggreini to lead marketing efforts, the cluster underlines its commitment to maintaining relevance in a competitive market while strengthening ties with its diverse audience.
