Turkish star Kerem Bürsin is returning to the small screen with Çarpıntı, a new drama on Star TV that promises a deeply emotional storyline and a strong ensemble cast. The series, produced by OGM Pictures, is set to premiere on 7 September.

Bürsin, best known internationally for his role in Sen Çal Kapımı (Love is in the Air), takes on a lead role alongside rising actress Lizge Cömert. The series also features acclaimed actors Sibel Taşçıoğlu and Deniz Çakır, adding further weight to the production.

A story of survival and fate

At the heart of Çarpıntı is the story of Aslı, played by Cömert, who has lived her entire life struggling with heart disease. After receiving a heart transplant, Aslı’s life takes a dramatic turn. The donor is revealed to be Melike Alkan, a young woman from a wealthy family who tragically dies in an accident.

Following the transplant, Melike’s mother, Reyhan, played by Deniz Çakır, forms a powerful emotional connection with Aslı, seeing in her a continuation of her daughter’s life. But this new bond complicates relations between the two families, bringing grief and hope into uneasy tension.

Aslı’s mother, Hülya, portrayed by Sibel Taşçıoğlu, sees the situation differently. For her, the transplant represents not just survival but an opportunity to strengthen her family’s position. These conflicting perspectives create the dramatic core of the show, exploring how tragedy, love and ambition intersect.

Themes of love, loss and identity

The drama is positioned as more than a family story. According to producers, Çarpıntı will delve into themes of survival, fate, and identity, forcing its characters to question who they are and what destiny means after a life-altering event.

The trailer has already generated excitement on social media, with many praising the emotional depth and production quality. Fans of Bürsin in particular are eagerly awaiting his return to television in a major role.

Ambitious new season project

Çarpıntı has been described as one of the most ambitious productions of the season, combining high production values, a compelling narrative, and performances from some of Turkey’s most prominent actors.

With a cast that bridges established names and rising stars, and a storyline designed to resonate with viewers on both emotional and philosophical levels, the series is expected to be a standout in Star TV’s line-up.

Whether Çarpıntı will live up to its early hype remains to be seen, but with its combination of star power, emotional weight, and visual storytelling, it is already being marked as a show to watch.
