Lenovo has earned a place among the world’s top supply chain performers once again, ranking 8th in Gartner’s Supply Chain Top 25 for 2025 — a two-place rise from last year. The recognition places Lenovo among global giants from industries including pharmaceuticals, automotive, and FMCG, applauding the company’s ability to combine innovation, resilience, and customer-centricity in its supply chain operations.
Gartner’s annual Supply Chain Top 25 celebrates companies demonstrating sustained excellence in supply chain strategy and execution, with a sharp focus on agility, sustainability, and digital transformation. For Lenovo, the key to its continued ascent lies in one word: AI.
AI at the Core of Supply Chain Evolution
Che Min Tu, Senior Vice President and Group Operations Officer at Lenovo, commented: “To build the kind of technology our customers expect, we need to lead by example. By integrating AI across our global supply chain, we’re not only able to support growing demand but also enhance the customer experience and reduce order-to-ship times — in what is arguably one of the most complex global environments.”
Lenovo’s supply chain transformation, eight years in the making, has harnessed the power of AI to streamline planning, supplier collaboration, and logistics visibility. These improvements also align with Lenovo’s broader ESG goals, reducing environmental impact while improving operational efficiency.
A dedicated team of over 75 AI researchers, including 22 PhDs, has developed tools that support real-time decisions and issue resolution across Lenovo’s supply chain. The company uses intelligent production scheduling and AI-powered demand planning to optimize operations at scale.
Guan Wei, SVP and Head of Global Supply Chain, highlighted AI’s role in elevating customer satisfaction: “AI-driven customer sentiment analysis has allowed us to dive deeper into customer expectations, leading to better responsiveness, improved warranty performance, and sharper service delivery.”
A Global Footprint Built for Resilience
Lenovo operates more than 30 manufacturing facilities across 11 global markets, spanning Asia Pacific, China, EMEA, North America, and South America. This distributed footprint offers unparalleled supply chain flexibility and geographic resilience.
In early 2025, Lenovo, in partnership with Alat, broke ground on a new production facility in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Expected to go live in 2026, the plant will manufacture laptops, desktops, and servers tailored for the regional market — reinforcing Lenovo’s commitment to localised production and regional agility.
From Resilience to Anti-Fragility
Ben Massie, Vice President of Global Supply Chain for Lenovo’s Infrastructure Solutions Group, noted the company’s evolving philosophy: “Staying resilient is no longer enough. Lenovo is now focused on becoming anti-fragile — not just withstanding disruption but emerging stronger because of it.”
By embedding AI at every level of its operations, Lenovo is not only navigating supply chain complexity — it is redefining the future of intelligent, adaptive, and sustainable global manufacturing.
