As the countdown begins for IFA Berlin 2025, LG Electronics has outlined the major technology trends it believes will define the future of consumer electronics, from artificial intelligence and smart homes to sustainability and robotics.
The South Korean tech giant will showcase its latest innovations at the annual trade fair, held from 5–9 September at Messe Berlin, positioning itself at the centre of conversations about how technology is evolving to meet consumer needs.
AI: driving smarter experiences
Artificial intelligence is expected to dominate IFA, moving beyond simple automation into contextual and natural interactions. LG will showcase its AI Home Solution and ThinQ ON smart hub, which coordinate AI-enabled appliances to create seamless living experiences. Features such as AI-powered laundry cycles aim to combine convenience with eco-friendly design.
Smarter homes and sustainability
Connected home ecosystems are shifting towards proactive, personalised support. LG’s ThinQ UP and ThinQ Care platforms promise predictive diagnostics and software updates, learning user behaviour to enhance daily living.
Sustainability also remains at the forefront. LG’s energy-efficient heat pump technology and laundry cycles designed to reduce microplastic release demonstrate the company’s push to align innovation with circular economy goals.
Gaming, XR and mobility
Immersive experiences are set to expand as cloud gaming becomes mainstream and spatial computing moves beyond entertainment into education and productivity. LG, known for its display technologies, is positioning itself in this growing sector.
Mobility will also be a major theme at IFA. Electric vehicles and connected ecosystems are increasingly mainstream, with LG’s collaboration on Kia’s MX Spielraum concept vehicle highlighting in-car smart living, complete with integrated fridges, sound systems and mood lighting.
Robotics and flexible consumption
Robotics are becoming more versatile and affordable, offering practical and emotional support in daily life. LG’s cleaning and companion robot concepts aim to show how robotics could enhance convenience and wellbeing.
The rise of subscription-based models is also reshaping how consumers access appliances. By promoting pay-as-you-go options with predictive maintenance and long-term performance, LG says it hopes to reduce waste while offering flexible access to premium technology.
Future-focused showcase
Paul Molyneux, European head of LG Electronics, said the company’s IFA presence reflects its vision of “technology that adapts to people’s lives while supporting a sustainable future.”
Visitors to Hall 18, Stand 101 will see LG’s latest product line-ups alongside its forward-looking concepts, underscoring how the firm intends to shape everyday living in the years ahead.
