LG Electronics Gulf and Schneider Electric have signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on smart living, energy efficiency, and sustainability initiatives across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and broader Middle East region.

The agreement, signed by Sa Nyoung Kim, President of LG Electronics Gulf, and Amel Chadli, President of Gulf Countries, Schneider Electric, signals a strategic alignment between two leading players in consumer electronics and digital energy transformation.

Towards Smarter, Greener Homes

Under the MoU, Schneider Electric’s renowned digital platforms, EcoStruxure and SpaceLogic KNX, will be integrated with LG’s advanced smart appliances and connected home systems. The objective is to develop user-centric, energy-efficient solutions that redefine modern living through seamless automation, data-driven management, and sustainable design.

“This MoU marks a major milestone in our commitment to smarter and more sustainable living,” said Sa Nyoung Kim, President of LG Electronics Gulf.

“By combining our strengths with Schneider Electric, we are creating connected home ecosystems that are intelligent, energy-efficient, and future-ready.”

The collaboration will also explore innovations that reduce carbon footprints, enhance energy conservation, and provide enhanced user experiences through smart control systems.

Smart Infrastructure as a Climate Solution

The initiative responds to the pressing need for climate-responsive infrastructure. According to Schneider Electric, buildings account for nearly 34% of global CO₂ emissions, making smart home innovation a critical priority.

“Partnering with LG Electronics allows us to unlock new value through smarter energy use, seamless automation, and enhanced user experiences,” said Amel Chadli, President of Gulf Countries, Schneider Electric.

“Together we are creating new possibilities in energy-efficient automation and intelligent home environments.”

This partnership represents an actionable step toward realizing digital transformation in residential infrastructure, an increasingly vital area as cities across the region aim to reduce environmental impact and adapt to smart city blueprints.

Joint Task Force and Regional Roadmap

As part of the agreement, a joint working group will be formed to identify pilot projects, tailor solutions to regional market needs, and align efforts with sustainability goals. The collaboration will begin with a focus on GCC countries, with potential expansion to other Middle Eastern markets.

Key focus areas include:

  • Integration of smart appliances and energy platforms
  • Smart home automation and control systems
  • Regional innovation tailored to energy usage patterns
  • Sustainable design and digital lifestyle enhancements

The MoU lays the foundation for co-developed solutions that blend LG’s consumer technology expertise with Schneider Electric’s leadership in automation and energy management. As smart homes become increasingly central to modern urban life, this partnership aims to accelerate the transition to intelligent, sustainable living environments across the region.
