Maserati’s triumphant return to closed-wheel racing continues to gather momentum as the Maserati GT2 becomes eligible to compete in over 20 racing series worldwide. From Europe to Oceania, the Trident’s racing supercar is set to challenge circuits across five continents, reinforcing the brand’s legacy on the track and expanding opportunities for both gentleman drivers and racing teams.
Following a successful debut season in the 2024 GT2 European Series, where Maserati clinched the Am class title along with multiple podiums and pole positions, the GT2 is now certified to participate in a broad spectrum of endurance and sprint series, including those sanctioned by SRO, Michelin, ACI Sport, and other major motorsport bodies.
Maria Conti, Head of Maserati Corse, said:
“We are committed to our passionate community of drivers and teams, and proud to widen the scope of competition where the Maserati GT2 can shine. This is about more than racing—it’s about honouring Maserati’s heritage and making space for future champions to emerge.”
Racing Across Continents
In Europe, the GT2 remains a standout in the GT2 European Series powered by Pirelli, where it has amassed an impressive tally of wins. Additional eligibility includes the Michelin 24H Series, Ultimate Cup Series, GT Winter Series, GT Cup Championship UK, ProSport Sprint, and GT Cup Europe.
Maserati GT2 will also join prestigious endurance events such as Nürburgring’s 24H, and ACI Sport Italia’s Gran Turismo Sprint Championship, ensuring its presence at circuits like Monza, Imola, Mugello, Spa, and Paul Ricard.
In the Americas, it enters the GT America powered by AWS, bringing its Italian precision to iconic U.S. tracks in a sprint format that caters to bronze-rated single drivers.
Asian motorsport welcomes the GT2 into the China GT Championship and Japan Cup, the latter growing into the country’s premier sprint GT platform. It will also make an appearance at the Suzuka 1000 km, one of Asia’s most storied endurance races.
South Africa adds another chapter to Maserati’s global journey. The South African Endurance Series, with its historic roots and rising international profile, now includes the GT2 as a contender in its national championship.
Down under in Oceania, the GT2 is approved for the Bathurst 12 Hour, one of the world’s most celebrated endurance events, and GT World Challenge Australia, where it will race at circuits such as Phillip Island and Hampton Downs.
A Future-Forward Legacy
Maserati’s global rollout comes as the company approaches its centenary in motorsport, reaffirming its commitment to high-performance engineering and track excellence. With over 170 races across more than 100 weekends annually, the Maserati GT2 is not only expanding its footprint—it’s setting new standards in global GT racing.
The Trident is back, faster and bolder, and now ready to dominate on a truly international scale.
