Maserati has taken centre stage at the second edition of the TUTTO BENE Hillclimb, a celebration of automotive culture held last week against the breathtaking backdrop of Lake Maggiore in northern Italy.
The event, which combines design, lifestyle and motoring passion, attracted an audience of enthusiasts eager to see the brand’s latest showcase: the GT2 Stradale, presented in a striking Giallo Genio body colour with black and grey interior finishes.
Unlike traditional hill climbs, there were no speed trials or timed competitions. Instead, the experience embraced the philosophy encapsulated in the slogan “slow down to go fast”. The emphasis was on the sheer joy of driving – a conscious, shared moment immersed in Italy’s natural landscape.
A road steeped in history
The course followed the historic Strada Borromea, a private seven-kilometre route that rises from Gignese, just above Stresa in Novara province, to the summit of Mottarone. Conceived by the BorromeoDeSilva design studio in collaboration with Race Service, the event featured around 80 cars. The lineup spanned everything from classic Italian icons to contemporary models, all curated under the motto “only cool cars allowed.”
As the cars made their ascent, the Maserati GT2 Stradale captured the spotlight, enthralling onlookers with its precision dynamics and the unmistakable growl of its Nettuno engine.
Maserati’s new chapter
The GT2 Stradale marks a fresh chapter in Maserati’s performance vision. Derived from the GT2 race car that signalled Maserati’s return to closed-wheel racing, the road-legal Stradale is engineered to unite motorsport DNA with everyday usability.
Equipped with a 640 hp (471 kW) V6 Nettuno engine, the GT2 Stradale can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.7 seconds, with a top speed surpassing 320 km/h. The model is also 60 kilograms lighter than the MC20, its predecessor, making it the most powerful road-legal combustion Maserati to date.
This fusion of speed, refinement and comfort is intended to appeal to drivers who seek both adrenaline on the road and luxury in their daily journeys.
Tradition meets innovation
By participating in the TUTTO BENE Hillclimb, Maserati reaffirmed its role in shaping contemporary automotive culture. The GT2 Stradale became a symbol of the brand’s Made in Italy philosophy, combining timeless design, technical excellence and the thrill of competition.
The Hillclimb setting itself provided a perfect metaphor for Maserati’s direction: a journey upward, blending heritage and innovation, performance and elegance.
The presence of the GT2 Stradale underscored Maserati’s ongoing commitment to transferring lessons from the racetrack to the open road. It reflected the company’s mission to translate its legendary racing pedigree into unique driving experiences that resonate with both purists and lifestyle enthusiasts.
As engines echoed off the alpine hillsides of Lake Maggiore, the message was clear – Maserati is not only honouring its past but also boldly redefining what it means to drive in the modern era.
