In a move aimed at transforming the logistics landscape for UAE-based enterprises, DHL Express UAE and Meydan Free Zone have announced a strategic partnership to enhance international shipping capabilities for businesses operating within the Free Zone.

The agreement was formalised at Meydan Free Zone’s headquarters, where Mahmoud Haj Hussein, Managing Director of DHL Express UAE, and Mohammad Bin Humaidan Al Falasi, CPA, Director of Free Zone Licensing, signed the partnership.

Under this new collaboration, registered businesses in the Meydan Free Zone will gain access to DHL’s expansive global logistics network covering over 220 countries and territories. They will also benefit from preferential shipping rates, streamlined customs clearance, real-time tracking, and scalable international logistics solutions.

Simplifying Global Trade for UAE SMEs

The partnership is designed to reduce logistical complexity for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), a key driver of the UAE’s economic diversification. The initiative is particularly focused on supporting high-growth sectors such as e-commerce, manufacturing, healthcare, and retail.

“Our partnership with Meydan Free Zone enables us to deliver reliable, scalable, and sector-specific logistics solutions that help entrepreneurs expand globally with confidence,” said Mahmoud Haj Hussein.

“Our goal is to simplify international trade and provide the infrastructure that enables businesses to expand their ambitions worldwide.”

By integrating DHL’s advanced shipping tools and support systems into Meydan’s business ecosystem, SMEs can look forward to quicker fulfilment, enhanced returns processing, and seamless entry into global markets.

Empowering Businesses with Infrastructure and Access

Mohammad Bin Humaidan Al Falasi highlighted the strategic value of the partnership:

“This partnership with DHL Express furthers our commitment to ensuring an environment where entrepreneurs have the tools to scale their ventures with ease. It removes the logistical barriers and provides these companies with direct access to one of the world’s most advanced logistics networks.”

The collaboration also aligns with the UAE’s broader national strategy to position its SME sector as a cornerstone of long-term economic growth and competitiveness. The ability to offer fast, efficient, and affordable global logistics services is seen as a critical enabler for startups and scale-ups with international ambitions.

Looking Ahead

As a trusted logistics partner to businesses across the region, DHL Express brings decades of experience in international trade facilitation. This partnership further strengthens its role in supporting enterprise growth in the UAE by delivering tailored, industry-specific logistics services.

With enhanced access to global supply chains and end-to-end shipping solutions, the Meydan–DHL alliance is expected to significantly ease the path for UAE companies seeking to operate and compete on the world stage.
