NVIDIA has announced a series of major updates to its gaming technologies and cloud platform GeForce NOW at Gamescom 2025, highlighting the arrival of its Blackwell architecture, advancements in DLSS 4, new hardware bundles, and expanded cloud gaming features.
The most significant reveal was the integration of NVIDIA Blackwell architecture into GeForce NOW, marking what the company described as its biggest cloud update to date. This update will introduce GeForce RTX 5080-class GPUs to the cloud, allowing gamers to stream up to 5K resolution at 120 frames per second. NVIDIA also announced the inclusion of DLSS 4 Multi-Frame Generation for cloud streaming, bringing enhanced performance and sharper visuals.
With the rollout of Blackwell, the GeForce NOW library will expand to more than 4,500 titles, doubling the current catalogue. This is enabled by the launch of the new “Install-to-Play” feature, giving subscribers access to their existing PC game collections and upcoming blockbuster releases directly via the cloud. A new Cinematic Quality Streaming mode was also introduced, delivering improved colour accuracy, smoother streaming, and clearer graphics for supported devices.
Support for additional hardware was another key focus. NVIDIA confirmed compatibility with racing wheels, improved performance on the Steam Deck of up to 90 frames per second, and enhanced output on supported LG TVs, enabling 4K streaming at 120Hz. In addition, a partnership with Discord and Epic Games will let Fortnite players invite friends via Discord with a free one-hour trial of a GeForce NOW Performance session—an initiative aimed at boosting social gaming and accessibility.
Beyond cloud gaming, NVIDIA highlighted the growing adoption of its DLSS 4 technology, now available in more than 175 titles. Among upcoming games to feature DLSS 4 are Resident Evil Requiem, PRAGMATA, and Cinder City. The company also revealed updates to its NVIDIA App, including global DLSS overrides, smooth motion settings for RTX 40 Series GPUs, and enhancements to Project G-Assist, which uses AI to provide in-game guidance and performance recommendations.
NVIDIA’s ACE (Avatar Cloud Engine) technology will also be featured in The Oversight Bureau, a new title from Iconic Interactive, showcasing real-time AI-driven character interactions.
In hardware promotions, NVIDIA announced a new Borderlands 4 bundle for buyers of select GeForce RTX 50 Series GPUs, offering the highly anticipated title at no extra cost. Additionally, players of Marvel Rivals will gain access to a free GeForce reward as part of NVIDIA’s ongoing rewards programme.
With these announcements, NVIDIA positioned itself at the forefront of the gaming industry’s next phase, emphasising not only graphical innovation but also social connectivity and accessibility. The company said its strategy is to ensure players have the tools, technology, and content needed for the evolving landscape of gaming—whether on powerful home PCs or streamed through the cloud.
