Ras Al Khaimah is adding a new culinary experience to its dining scene with the launch of Salt & Spirits, a weekly seafood evening at Meze, the Turkish restaurant at DoubleTree by Hilton Resort & Spa Marjan Island.
The event, held every Saturday from 6:00 pm to 10:30 pm, has been curated by Turkish chef Mehmet Akif Topal. His menu blends traditional Turkish flavours with contemporary takes on seafood dishes, designed to showcase both authenticity and artistry.
The evening begins with unlimited hot and cold starters, offering diners a generous prelude to a set menu built around the bounty of the sea. Among the highlights are Seabass Gratin, baked with mushrooms, potatoes and cheese, and Mixed Seafood, combining shrimp, mussels, calamari and vegetables in either a tomato or cream-based sauce.
Desserts pay homage to Turkish tradition. Handmade baklava layered with filo, pistachio and syrup is paired with vanilla ice cream and complemented by Raki, a signature Turkish drink.
Situated on Marjan Island Boulevard, Meze is already known for its mix of Turkish and Lebanese flavours, open kitchen, and colourful interiors. Floor-to-ceiling windows and an expansive terrace overlooking the Arabian Gulf make the venue a striking backdrop for the seafood experience.
For many, the atmosphere will be just as important as the menu. Golden hour views across the Gulf, combined with the aroma of freshly prepared seafood, aim to transport guests beyond a simple dinner into what the resort describes as “a journey of flavours and heritage”.
The event has been positioned as suitable for couples, families, and groups of friends. With packages priced at AED 149 per person for soft beverages and AED 199 for house beverages, it offers what the organisers hope will be both accessibility and exclusivity.
The launch reflects a wider trend in Ras Al Khaimah’s hospitality sector, where hotels and resorts are increasingly introducing themed dining nights to attract both local residents and visitors. By highlighting Turkish culinary traditions in a seafood-focused context, the event also adds diversity to the emirate’s food landscape.
While Salt & Spirits is still in its early weeks, it is expected to become a regular fixture on the dining calendar. The resort advises advance booking, citing limited seating for each event.
With its combination of Turkish heritage, fresh seafood, and the setting of the Arabian Gulf, the organisers are aiming for Salt & Spirits to establish itself as a signature Ras Al Khaimah dining experience.
