DMCC, the world’s leading international business district in Dubai, has joined forces with SK Sports Holding and football legend Clarence Seedorf to launch the SK Performance Club (SKPC) at Jumeirah Lake Towers (JLT). The new programme combines grassroots football with martial arts-inspired training, offering young athletes aged 7 to 14 a unique development pathway.
The launch marks the latest addition to SKPC’s global network, following similar openings in Brazil and Canada. By merging Seedorf’s football expertise with martial arts elements inspired by UFC champion Khabib Nurmagomedov, the initiative aims to build discipline, resilience, and mental strength in Dubai’s youth.
Training with purpose
The SK Performance Club at JLT Park Sports Hub will feature a curriculum blending three pillars of development:
- Professional grassroots football: rooted in Seedorf’s proven science-based methodology for youth training.
- Martial arts drills: inspired by Khabib’s philosophy of perseverance and discipline to foster a strong mind-body connection.
- Advanced Fitlight technology: sharpening speed, reflexes, and cognitive ability to enhance performance.
Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Executive Chairman and CEO of DMCC, said the launch reflected the district’s commitment to building a thriving sports and lifestyle environment.
“JLT has become one of Dubai’s premier business and lifestyle destinations, home to nearly 100,000 residents. Partnering with global icons Clarence Seedorf and Khabib Nurmagomedov to launch the SK Performance Club brings a pioneering programme to our community. This is more than just football – it’s a movement to inspire Dubai’s next generation,” he said.
Global experience, local impact
Clarence Seedorf, who serves as CEO of SK Sports Holding, highlighted the broader mission of SKPC to nurture talent while instilling life skills.
“Our mission is to promote high-quality grassroots programmes globally, aspiring for excellence and character development. This partnership allows us to deliver a science-based methodology to Dubai’s youth. Together, we are building future champions on and off the pitch,” Seedorf said.
Martial arts legend Khabib Nurmagomedov, though not present at the launch, has shaped the programme’s martial-arts infused drills to instil discipline and resilience – qualities he credits for his own success.
Community at the core
The initiative also expands JLT’s role as a hub for sports innovation. Koora Sports, a partner in the project, will manage the JLT Park Sports Hub under the agreement. The facility is already home to football and basketball pitches and international academies, and with SKPC management, it is expected to enhance community engagement.
Mohammed Albaw, Founder of Koora Sports, said: “Sports bring people together and inspire healthier lifestyles. By working with DMCC and SK Sports Holding, we’re creating a space where families and residents can connect through sport at the heart of JLT.”
Registrations open
Enrolment for SKPC JLT is now open, inviting boys and girls aged 7–14 to join what organisers describe as one of Dubai’s most dynamic youth training programmes.
