Taman Safari Indonesia, Southeast Asia’s leading conservation park, concluded a successful showcase at the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) 2025, held from 28 April to 1 May at the Dubai World Trade Centre. The conservation-driven destination highlighted its unique wildlife experiences and reaffirmed Indonesia’s growing tourism appeal across the Middle East and Central Asia.
Unlike conventional zoos, Taman Safari Indonesia has long prioritized animal welfare through expansive, naturalistic enclosures that mirror native habitats. During the four-day event, the institution promoted its blend of eco-tourism and education, positioning itself as a key player in wildlife conservation and sustainable travel.
Alexander Zulkarnain, Senior Vice President of Marketing for the Taman Safari Indonesia Group, led the delegation. “This wasn’t just about promotion—it was about connection. We aimed to strengthen the bond between Indonesia and the Middle East through the shared language of nature and discovery,” he stated.
This year marked Taman Safari Indonesia’s third participation in ATM, with its presence supported by the Indonesian Ministry of Tourism and the Tourism and Creative Economy Office of DKI Jakarta Province. These collaborations provided a strong platform for Indonesian tourism stakeholders to engage directly with regional travel operators and investors.
The Taman Safari booth captivated visitors with interactive exhibits, immersive media, and a strong focus on family-friendly experiences. The park’s offerings, which include up-close wildlife encounters, educational programs, and cultural attractions, were promoted as a window into Indonesia’s biodiversity and ecological heritage.
The push aligns with broader tourism goals. In 2024, Indonesia welcomed over 224,000 visitors from the Middle East, a 23% rise from the previous year. Following ATM 2025, the Ministry of Tourism reaffirmed its target of 249,000 Middle Eastern tourists for 2025, leveraging the event’s impact to deepen market outreach.
Zulkarnain emphasized that Taman Safari Indonesia’s presence reflected more than brand visibility. “It was about diplomacy through tourism,” he said. “Every visitor we met brought us closer to building stronger cultural and ecological bridges.”
Indonesia’s participation in ATM 2025 was viewed as a strategic success, reinforcing its status as a top nature-based destination. With increasing collaboration between government bodies and tourism operators, the country strengthened its presence in a competitive market while promoting conservation and responsible travel.
