Thailand is setting the stage for a massive retail boost this summer with the launch of the Summer Grand Sale 2025, spearheaded by Central Pattana plc, the country’s leading real estate and retail developer. Backed by an investment of THB 1 billion, the nationwide campaign is billed as the biggest mid-year shopping event of the year, offering discounts of up to 80% across more than 12,000 stores and 28,000 brands.
The sale runs from 30 May to 13 July 2025 and takes place at major Central Pattana destinations including centralwOrld, Central Village Outlet, Central Pattaya, Central Marina Outlet, Central Samui, and Central Phuket. The event is not only aimed at local consumers but is strategically targeting international tourists, especially high-spending travellers from the Middle East, China, Europe, the US, and Southeast Asia.
This ambitious campaign is a collaborative effort, uniting Central Group’s top affiliates and a diverse range of public and private sector partners. The retail alliance includes some of Thailand’s most recognisable names such as Central Retail, Central Department Store, Robinson, Tops, Power Buy, OfficeMate, B2S, and Centara Hotels and Resorts, along with entertainment giants Major Cineplex and SF Cinema.
Importantly, the campaign is also supported by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) as part of the ongoing Amazing Thailand Grand Sale initiative, which aims to position the country as a global shopping destination. Organisers say the event will help boost the local economy by attracting quality tourists and promoting Thailand’s reputation for food, fashion, hospitality, and culture.
Targeting the Global Shopper
According to Central Pattana, the campaign is built around shopper insights that vary by region. Chinese visitors are drawn to local fashion and famous eateries, while Hong Kong and Singaporean tourists are known to seek out artisanal products and traditional Thai desserts. Shoppers from Europe and the United States favour international fashion and fine dining, while Middle Eastern and Russian tourists have shown strong demand for luxury goods.
These patterns are reflected in growing e-wallet usage and spending at key malls, particularly in tourist hotspots like Central Phuket, Central Chiangmai, and Central Pattaya. Officials say this underscores the appeal of Central locations to “quality shoppers” who spend more and seek elevated retail experiences.
Exclusive Benefits for Tourists
International visitors during the sale period are eligible for exclusive offers. Tourists who sign up for The 1 Tourist membership will receive a free Welcome Package with discounts of up to 40%* on participating brands. Additionally, spending THB 6,000 (or THB 5,000 for Klook users) qualifies shoppers for a complimentary Good Goods Tote Bag valued at THB 690.
By combining large-scale discounts, curated experiences, and strategic international marketing, the Summer Grand Sale 2025 aims to cement Thailand’s status as a shopping and tourism powerhouse in Asia and beyond.
